<p>Oooh la la! Ritzy 5* hotel <a href="https://www.the-vineyard.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Vineyard</a> in Newbury is set to swing open its doors to a brand spanking new tasting room on 20 October. In the decedent space, guests will be able to indulge in a sumptuous dining experience comprised of five-courses and specially hand-picked wines that reflect the season. Described by executive chef Tom Scade as, &#8220;an immersive and sensory journey&#8221;, the launch menu includes crapaudine beetroot, Cornish turbot, and Yattendon estate venison. Yum, yum, yum. The Tasting Room will have 28 settings per evening and prices start at £95 per person.</p>

<p>Speaking of tasting menus, <a href="https://damson-restaurant.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Damson Restaurant</a> in Winterbourne opened last month and my god is it the place to be right now. Following year long renovations, head chef Henry Kremer-Ireson (previously of Henry &amp; Joe’s in Newbury) has transformed the space into a suave foodie destination and is serving up lip-smacking set and taster menus. It&#8217;s ingredient-led fine dining at, well, it&#8217;s finest. Think squash and egg yolk ravioli, cod loin, and bavette steak with charcoal emulsion. The 7 course tasting menu is available Friday and Saturday nights, and on Wednesday and Thursday nights a mid-week menu is offered. Be right back people, just making a quick reservation.</p>

<p>Feeling hungry yet? Well there&#8217;s more foodie fabulousness where that came from. Hot off the presses, uber trendy Indian Kitchen, <a href="https://bombaystory.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Bombay Story</a> in Wokingham, has gone down such a storm, owners (and Wokingham locals) Jey and Anita have announced they will be opening a second location in Maidenhead Waterfront. It&#8217;s being decked out as we speak. We can&#8217;t wait to get our biryani fix very soon.</p>

<p>Over in Bracknell, pottery painting studio <a href="https://www.mossendgardenvillage.co.uk/top-of-the-pots" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Top of the Pots</a> located in Moss End Garden Village is expanding baby. From mid-November, say hello to Clay Next Door, the sister studio offering clay hand-building classes, walk-in clay imprints, and more in the, yep you guessed it, space next door.</p>

<p>Vogue describes it as “the addictive racket sport set to be your next fitness obsession”,  The Prince and Princess of Wales have taken it up, plus major tennis stars including Andy Murray, Serena Williams and Rafa Nadal can&#8217;t get enough of it. Yep, Padel is ALL the rage right now in the sporting world. None the wiser? If squash and tennis had a baby then it would look like this. Well, almost. The good news for novices and padel fanatics alike, a brand new state of the art padel facility has literally just opened in Slough. <a href="https://www.padelhub.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Padel Hub</a> has five super swanky indoor padel courts, a court side gym, changing rooms, café, bar and wellness suite. Wowza.</p>

<p>I think I want to leave right now&#8230; to go to The Vineyard&#8217;s star-studded <a href="https://www.the-vineyard.co.uk/content/charity-fundraising-event-newbury-soup-kitchen/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Charity Fundraiser</a>! Shaking their buckets for one night only in aid of Newbury Soup Kitchen, the charity&#8217;s patron Will Young will be hosting an unforgettable night at the swanky hotel complete with British sparkling wine from&nbsp;All Angels Vineyard, a canapé reception, followed by a delicious 3-course sit-down dinner with accompanying wines. Rob (Judge) Rinder MBE will be auctioneer and compère&nbsp;for the evening, and magician&nbsp;David Redfearn&nbsp;will be wowing guests with his tricks. It&#8217;s on Fri 17 Nov and tickets are £200pp.</p>

<p>Did someone say beer? Reading&#8217;s own <a href="https://www.phantombrew.com/">Phantom Brewing Co.</a> is about to get twice as big and we&#8217;re totally here for it. On 13 Oct, their brand new taproom, a smidge over the border in Henley-on-Thames, will be bursting open just off the main high street. It&#8217;s called Echoes and in celebration they&#8217;ve even launched a new brew, Gardiner Place. Save us a glass!</p>

<p>We are absolutely devastated to learn <a href="https://www.the-halfway-inn.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Halfway Inn</a> in Newbury has closed its doors this month for the very last time. We wish Jo and Nick all the very best for wherever the road takes them next.</p>
