<p>Not a rooftop, but if you’re after something a bit different, head to Reading’s <a href="https://www.bluecollarstreetfood.co.uk/">Blue Collar Corner</a> – a street food hangout made out of shipping containers. Featuring one bar, two floors, four kitchens and a huge beer garden, head up to the second floor for the best views over this buzzing venue. Make sure you’re hungry when you arrive &#8211; pizzas, bao buns, Argentinian steak, empanadas, tacos, nachos? You name it, you got it.</p>

<p>It’s got Roux over the door and on the floor, but more importantly it’s got a stonking view of the River Thames and a couple of sunny terraces to choose from. <a href="https://rouxatskindles.co.uk/">Roux at Skindles</a> is the place to be on a sunny day. Enjoy drinks and snack upstairs on the cocktail bar balcony or grab one of the few tables outside in the brasserie. If you’re not there early, you’ll have to wrestle table hoggers out of their prime location seats.</p>

The <a href="https://mojitobeachbars.com/">Mojito Beach Bar</a> is back on Riverside to bring your holiday vibes without leaving the county. It brings you River Kennet views, a soft sandy beach, roof terrace and live music Fridays. Not to forget the Watermelon Bar serving cocktails, draught beers and ciders, spirits and wines plus a range of Charcuterie boards (with veggie and vegan options available). Kids are welcome too with table tennis, outdoor games and beach equipment, so you can keep an eye on them as you sip your cocktail on the roof terrace. Bliss!</p>

<p>If you love the supercool London street food scene, then you’re gonna love <a href="https://www.markethousereading.com/">The Market House</a> in Reading, a laidback hangout to eat and drink on repeat. It is without doubt one of the most Instagrammable bars in Berkshire and can be found in the old Lloyds Bank building in the centre of town. The roof terrace is cocooned with living walls and botanical prints that whisk you away from Reading to a more exotic locale. On the menu, street food, cocktails, nice wines and craft beers. Fine dining it is not, but it’s definitely fun. There’s shuffle board, ping pong and pool tables too, if you’re feeling competitive.</p>

If you want a prime seat on the outdoor terrace, it’s best to book ahead, although there are some tables available for walk-ins if you prefer to wing it. It’s also cashless and table service only. Simply use your mobile to order and your drinks and food will magically arrive.</p>

It’s a people watching hot spot. And while you’re probably going to want to indulge in their foxy selection of organic and bio diverse wines from UK and Europe, the short but sweet menu of British cocktails hold their own.
