<p>A thoroughbred stud farm is probably the last place you&#8217;d expect a rollicking lineup of live music, DJ, and street food events to take place. But since last summer, <a href="https://www.highclerevalley.co.uk/events" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Tractor Shed</a>, tucked away in Burghclere just outside Newbury, has become the monthly Friday night haunt of the hip, in-the-know local crowd, who are probably wincing at us letting the cat out of the bag. Sorry!</p>



<p>The appeal? There&#8217;s nothing overly polished about The Tractor Shed, and that&#8217;s entirely the point. Built around community rather than commerciality, it&#8217;s a genuinely grassroots venture that celebrates local talent, local produce and local people. Estate-reared Dexter beef and lamb feature on the menus of the airstream street food trailer in the courtyard, local musicians are given a stage, and every event is designed to encourage what we&#8217;re all a little bit starved of these days: genuine connection. Catching up with old friends, or making new ones, it&#8217;s bringing people together. And we&#8217;re here for it.</p>

<p>It all started just over a year ago, when the space was transformed from a cold, blustery barn to a trendy, rustic hangout spot for parties and events. The energy of the early bashes was so off the charts, owners Jake and Zoe knew they were on to something special. There was clearly an appetite for something a bit different from your standard night out. And turns out, their hunch was right. </p>

<p>Fast-forward to today, a stylish pick &#8216;n&#8217; mix of people of all ages descend upon Highclere Valley Stud Farm for a good time, and each night (on the last Friday of the month) follows a similar formula. Dress up if you fancy it, throw on your favourite trainers if you don&#8217;t. It&#8217;s all very laid back while still retaining its impeccably vibey atmosphere. There&#8217;s street food to scoff, cracking music to enjoy, and delicious cocktails are flowing, with tickets usually costing £20. Fantastic bang for your buck. In an age of identikit bars and polished venues, The Tractor Shed truly feels like the antidote. And now you know why this hidden gem was far too good to keep secret.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-what-s-on">WHAT&#8217;S ON?</h2>



<p>The diary is stacked and tickets are already flying off the shelves. So, ermm, spoiler alert: you&#8217;ll want to get yours quick. While the venue has been used for weekly Pilates and Yoga classes, rumour has it they are currently cooking up something new in the wellness sphere (hello workshops and retreats!), so ears firmly to ground. In the meantime, here&#8217;s what&#8217;s going down at The Tractor Shed in the coming months. Saddle up, let&#8217;s party.</p>

There are two huts on site, one sleeping four and one sleeping two, each as rustic and charming as the last. The thought of sinking into the outdoor wood-fired hot tub after a night of whiskey sours and throwing serious shapes has us very much sold.</p>
