I mean, fast food has never looked so good. <a href="https://www.instagram.com/sidestreetofficial/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Side Street</a> is the newest boujee burger joint on Reading&#8217;s radar, revolutionising the bun and patty game as we know it. The viral Instagram sensation already has three thriving branches up north and now, they are branching down to southern lands anew. Find them serving up the dream at The Food Court on Oxford Road now. </p>

<p>Previously Huttons, a new era of Moroccan elegance awaits in the form of <a href="https://www.instagram.com/ryadmomowindsor/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Ryad Momo</a> &#8211; the latest gem in Windsor’s crown of fine furniture and homeware. The family-owned independent store, helmed by the well-respected local duo, Amina and Abdul, is a treasure trove of classic charm and contemporary flair with a curated selection of furniture, art, and gifts, all infused with the mystique of Moroccan culture. It&#8217;s an Aladdin&#8217;s cave of goodies we can&#8217;t wait to explore.</p>

<p>Also in Windsor, a brand spanking new Mango is set to open in the Royal town, taking over the site of the old New Look within the Windsor Yards King Edward Court area. The Spanish fashion store will feature women and kids’ lines, as well as New Med – a Mediterranean-inspired store concept. There&#8217;s no official date yet, but word on the Windsor street is it will be opening within the next few months. My supersized shopping bag is ready when you are.</p>

<p>Hot off the presses, the owners of <a href="https://berkshire.muddystilettos.co.uk/eat-out/royal-oak-yattendon/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Royal Oak</a>, Yattendon have announced they are taking over the running of rural gem, The Pot Kiln in Frilsham. They will be closing on 8 Jan for a few months to refurb the place and are set to reopen in the Spring. If it&#8217;s anything as up to scratch as The Royal Oak, we for one cannot wait to see the results.</p>

<p>Yes chef! It&#8217;s new year, new head chef over at Heston&#8217;s three Michelin star <a href="https://thefatduck.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Fat Duck</a> in Bray. Say hello to Karl Jaques, a foodie magician who first joined the team back in 2018 as a Chef de Partie. He&#8217;s worked his way right to the top and is now taking over as Head Chef &#8211; no mean feat. Congrats Karl!</p>

<p>No better setting for a festival than the beautiful grounds of Englefield House in Pangbourne who for the third year will be hosting <a href="https://flackstock.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Flackstock Festival</a>. Having initially begun in memory of Caroline Flack, helping raise vital funds for mental health charities on the way, the festival returns on Mon 22 July with this year&#8217;s line-up to be announced very soon. Pixie Lott is a previous headliner, as is Natalie Imbruglia, Fleur East, and Professor Green just to name a few. See you on the field Flackstockers!</p>

But hey, it&#8217;s the French Horn so it&#8217;s worth it. <a href="https://thefrenchhorn.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The French Horn</a> in Sonning Eye is more than just a super fine dining restaurant and rooms, it&#8217;s been under the care of the Emmanuel family since 1972 with the property’s 200-year legacy steeped in tradition and culinary excellence. Not much to live up to then, eh? It&#8217;s for sale, and the bang for your buck sees a huge detached manor house, 8.6 acres of land, a number of additional properties and cottages, plus you&#8217;re practically swimming in the River Thames. <p>Pass the gin, this is a tough one to swallow. We are gutted to learn <a href="https://www.thecornstoresreading.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Corn Stores</a> has shut its doors for the final time. Having opened back in 2019, the super trendy boutique restaurant and cocktail bar made waves in Reading, part of the Rarebreed Dining portfolio &#8211; an oasis for carnivores. Now, the owners have said they will be focusing on their other locations, including <a href="https://www.theshurlockinn.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Shurlock Inn</a> just outside Reading where you can still get your steak and cocktail fix. Silver linings and all that.</p>

<p>Another sad loss for Reading comes with the closure of <a href="https://www.instagram.com/revolutionreading/?hl=en-gb" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Revolution</a> on Station Road who served their final cocktail on 5 Jan. We&#8217;re going to miss getting our groove on on the dance floor. In the words of Robyn, we&#8217;re now well and truly dancing on our own.</p>
