<p>Nothing like the smell of fresh paint. And <a href="https://butcombe.com/the-dundas-arms-berkshire/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Dundas Arms</a> in Kintbury is smothered in it. The beloved local pub has just flung back open its doors following a hugeee face lift that has transformed the bar and restaurant, private dining room, canal side garden and the exterior. Inside, you&#8217;ll now find gorgeous natural tones, soft greens, and a hint of chilli red that complements the statements wallpapers, alongside textured materials like wicker lighting, cane furniture, brown‑tan leather and terracotta accents. Wit woo! </p>

<p>The zhuzhing up of the outside space, quite frankly, couldn&#8217;t have come at a better time and I&#8217;m obsessed with the fringed polka dot umbrellas. Just add an Aperol in the sun and we&#8217;re in pub garden heaven. Cheers to that!</p>

<p>It&#8217;s official &#8211; <a href="https://www.dorchestercollection.com/ascot/coworth-park/whats-on/tide" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">TIDE</a> is back with a culinary vengeance at Coworth Park in Ascot. By far, it&#8217;s one of the loveliest al fresco summer dining experiences around, a celebration of the season through exceptional produce, outdoor dining and a strong connection to the surrounding landscape. It&#8217;s open Fri &#8211; Sun, with this year&#8217;s theme taking inspiration from Britain’s coastline and summer larder. It has a bold focus on fire-led cooking, raw and cured seafood and dishes designed for sharing. Yum.</p>



<p>But that&#8217;s not all. Brand-new for 2026, the flirty five-star bolthole is also launching the Coworth Park Creamery. Clip clop your way to the Rose Lawn Bar for a whimsical ice cream cart that&#8217;s bringing nostalgic British summertime charm by the spoonful. Expect a collection of scrummy homemade ice creams and sorbets with refined flavour combinations (naturally, darling) like black truffle with Jersey Gold Milk and salted pumpkin seed praline &#8211; all created by Michelin-starred chef Adam Smith. Cone or tub? Now that&#8217;s the million-dollar question.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-new-opening-alert">NEW OPENING ALERT</h2>



<p>We love a farm shop here at Muddy! Naturally, I was pretty darn excited to learn a new deli is coming to Chapel Row near Reading. <a href="https://thebladebone.com/diddy-deli/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Diddy Deli</a> will be designed and operated by Richie from The Bladebone pub and will stock an indulgent array of goodies from fresh butchery and fish to cheeses, cured meats, marinades, butters, fresh bakery and everything in between. Definitely stop by for their own blend coffee, frapes, smoothies, iced drinks, as well as a lunchtime dining menu with paninis, jacket potatoes, and quiche. We&#8217;ll be first in line when it opens on <strong>24 July</strong>.</p>

<p>Love yourself some summertime bubbles? Don&#8217;t we all. You&#8217;ll definitely want to add this stunning <a href="https://www.allangels.com/products/sparkling-rose-2019" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Sparkling Rosé</a> from Enborne&#8217;s All Angels Vineyard to your basket. And I wouldn&#8217;t dilly dally either. The release is limited to just 2,000 bottles, having spent six years on lees. Its launch coincided with English Wine Week in June and follows a more unusual Pinot-Gris led blend. It&#8217;s delicious no less, with a delicate, floral character and freshness. I&#8217;ll take ten.</p>

<p>If your kids are banging on about doing something seriously cool during the summer holidays, how does enrolling in theatre school with a few West End stars sound? Over the hols, Muddy Award-winning Reading Rep Theatre will be welcoming Deena Kapadia&nbsp;(<em>Mamma Mia!</em>) and&nbsp;Natasha Hoeberigs&nbsp;(<em>The Rocky Horror Show</em>) to lead masterclasses as part of the theatre’s annual&nbsp;<a href="https://www.readingrep.com/whats-on/?f=Holiday+Workshops" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">West End Experience</a>&nbsp;summer schools. </p>



<p>It&#8217;s running from&nbsp;<strong>27 – 31 July</strong> and will explore the songs from hit musicals such as&nbsp;<em>Wicked, Hamilton, Six, Paddington</em>&nbsp;and more. There will be the opportunity to perform the smash-hit songs, choreograph dances, get top tips from industry professionals and perform in their very own West End Musical showcase. <h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-literary-lust">LITERARY LUST</h2>



<p>You may have missed Wasing&#8217;s fabulous <a href="https://berkshire.muddystilettos.co.uk/whats-on/well-read-festival-wasing/">Well Read</a> literary festival, but do not fret. Taking place <strong>2 &#8211; 11 Oct</strong>, <a href="https://www.henleyliteraryfestival.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Henley Literary Festival</a> has officially announced their final lineup for this year&#8217;s 20th anniversary festivities which include Eric Idle, Theresa May, Sebastian Faulks, Sarah Wynn-Williams and Joe Wicks, who will join speakers including&nbsp;Matt Haig, Meera Syal, Michael Morpurgo, Nigella Lawson and Tony Adams. General sale tickets go live on 13 July FYI. Dates for <a href="https://clivedenliteraryfestival.org/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Cliveden Literary Festival</a> have also just dropped which will take place from&nbsp;<strong>Sat 10&nbsp;&#8211; Sun&nbsp;11 Oct</strong>.
