<p>Say cheese! A brand spanking new wine and cheese bar arrived in Newbury last week and we can&#8217;t stop grinning. <a href="https://www.chegos.co.uk/">Chego&#8217;s</a>, located on Bartholomew Street, is a super intimate dining space adorned with chic furnishings, cosy lighting, with a huge avant-garde hummingbird mural festooning one of the walls. On the menu you&#8217;ll find tempting grazing boards filled with cheese and charcuterie, tapas style bites like Serrano ham and bacon croquettes, and Patatas Bravas, plus gooey fondue consisting of Raclette and Emmental, bacon, white wine, garlic, baby potatoes, and warm artisan dipping bread. Wowza. If you&#8217;re struggling to decide (don&#8217;t blame you) there&#8217;s a tasting menu for £40pp or £45pp with dessert, plus a knockout wine list to wash it all down. <p>Oh la la! <a href="https://www.browns-restaurants.co.uk/restaurants/southeast/windsor#/">Browns</a> in Windsor is reopening on 9 Nov after a hugeee renovation carried out by London interior design house Design Clarity. Restrained modern glamour is the result with bespoke, signature wallpapers and rich colours, patterns and textures. Think gorgeous velvet, luxe leather and corduroy. We likey.</p>

<p>Napkin tucked and booking secured? Well don&#8217;t hang around! Newbury&#8217;s hottest new foodie hotspot opens on 17 Nov and tables are already being swooped up. From the brain boxes behind highly acclaimed The Woodspeen, the new produce-led all-day dining destination, <a href="https://theboxford.com/">The Boxford</a>, will be an elegant, easy going affair. It will open bright and early for coffee in the morning before serving up delicious nosh all day, tailored to pretty much everyone and every occasion. Italian Head Chef, Emanuele Privitera, brings the foodie drama with authentic Italian flavours which will see hand-rolled pastas, pizzas plus items such as Burrata and Pork Cutlet Alla Milanese on the menu.</p>



<p>The building was previously home to The Bell Inn, and now it has been lovingly renovated into an Uber trendy space spanning seven metres in height and fitted with a sustainably thatched roof. We can&#8217;t wait to see the end result.</p>

<p>Powder that nose sister because a grand unveiling for luxury beauty retailer <a href="https://www.spacenk.com/uk/home">Space NK&#8217;s</a> new shop is happening at the Oracle Reading this weekend (4 Nov). Following the closure of Next Beauty and House of Fraser, this will be the only shop of its kind in the town and if it&#8217;s anything like their previous store openings, you can expect a red carpet rollout plus prizes, treats, and lots of luscious products to try.</p>

<p>Hot off the presses, the annual Reading Christmas light switch on (all 400,000 of them) will take place Sat 18 Nov this year and promises a day bursting with yuletide joy. Gather around the Broad Street Christmas tree and let the festive spirit do the rest. There will be a bar selling food and drink, live music, plus an appearance from the town&#8217;s favourite dame, Paul Morse (keep your eyes peeled for a Muddy chinwag with him coming very soon).</p>

<p><a href="https://www.coppaclub.co.uk/theswanatstreatley/">The Swan at Streatley</a> near Goring has recently won the title of &#8216;new or recently renovated hotel&#8217; in the UK, Europe and the Mediterranean at Condé Nast&#8217;s Reader&#8217;s Choice Awards with its &#8220;warm, designer yet homely décor&#8221;. We love to see it!</p>

<p>After 22 years of slip and sliding, <a href="https://windsor.liquidleisure.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Liquid Leisure</a> in Windsor will be shutting on 12 Nov having provided thousands with tumbles, splashes, and oodles of fun. The site has previously been used as a wakeboarding training centre for Team GB and has created ten British World Champions who trained at the venue. A big blow. They will be sadly missed.</p>



<p>We&#8217;re also absolutely gutted to learn Muddy award-winning The Grumpy Goat has had to close its doors in Reading having been a staple in the town for the past 10 years. We realise it was a huge and devastating shock, and wish them all the very best for whatever comes next.</p>

<p>Finally, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/theglobenewbury/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Globe</a> in Newbury has announced they are saying goodbye next May for the final time. We loved this dog-friendly pub and although yappy hour will never be the same again, we&#8217;re looking forward to enjoying the final six months stuffing our face with a gin in hand.</p>
