While you might be waiting over a year to cop an exclusive membership here, the swanky, glass swathed Mediterranean restaurant is open to all for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It&#8217;s serious holiday vibes. Expect to feast on Spanish-inspired dishes like Catalonian crab rice baked with monkfish and slow cooked Iberico pork collar with stonking views of the steamy outdoor pool that provides all the drama (and people watching ops).</p>

<p>Located in Reading&#8217;s only five star hotel <a href="https://berkshire.muddystilettos.co.uk/travel/uk/hotel-and-inns/review-the-roseate-reading/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Roseate</a>, The Reading Room restaurant screams luxury. The décor is tasteful with plush seating, mood lighting, and understated wall art. But it&#8217;s the food that does all the talking &#8211; something you won&#8217;t be doing while trying to decide whether to throw caution to the wind and opt for the seven course tasting menu (highly recommended). There&#8217;s plenty to please the palate, plus a great wine list to wash it down. Open seven days a week. </p>

<p>About as close to the real thing without jumping on a jumbo jet. Clay&#8217;s, a hop, skip and a jump over the bridge into Caversham, is a modern Indian kitchen and bar serving up innovative and classic dishes from Andhra and Hyderabad &#8211; regions of south India where owners Sharat and Nandana hail from. Not your classic takeaway grub here. Think Bhuna venison, glazed pork belly, and a tempting list of vegan and veggie dishes. Top food critics like Jay Rayner and Tom Parker Bowles are crazy for it. And so are we.</p>

It&#8217;s located a smidge out the centre of Reading and into the countryside, but well worth the detour. Inside you&#8217;ll find charm in spades, with a sizzling open kitchen and a variety of steak sizes, cuts and sauces giving you the wink.&nbsp;Meat not your thang? There&#8217;s plenty of other crowd pleasers on the menu too.</p>

From bread, cheese biscuits, stocks, sauces, sorbet, and ice-cream, absolutely everything is made on the premises. We&#8217;re big fans of the  friendly, attentive, and personality driven service. Pssst, the wild mushroom, truffle and mozzarella risotto cakes, and monkfish king prawn and sweet potato rendang sound amaaaazing.</p>
