<p><a href="https://www.goatontheroof.co.uk/">Goat On The Roof</a>, owned and run by Patrick Vaughan-Fowler and head chef Sam May, is a British Tapas restaurant and wine bar in a cracking location. Right by the River Kennet, in the old Lloyds Bank building, the old vault is now home to the kitchen. Delicious food with a low carbon footprint is the name of the game and the menu, which consists of 29 dishes across six categories, is basically a love letter to British producers. Choose from Rosary Goat’s cheese, Scottish salmon pastrami, pickled Cornish scallops, Berkshire butchers steak and lemon vinegar posset served with white chocolate to name but a few. Just make sure you leave room for the puds!</p>

<p>137 Eat Drink Distil is the brainchild of Pete Lumber, formerly of award-winning gastropub The Newbury. Located slap bang in the middle of Parkway Shopping Centre, there’s coffee, small plates, unusual wines, cocktails and beers to tickle your fancy. There are dishes on the menu for carnivores, fish lovers and veggies alike. Simple, seasonal ingredients deliver on flavour. Your challenge will be choosing the recommended three or four plates per person.</p>

<p>Newly opened and offering a true tapas treat, El Cerdo has hit the authenticity nail right on the head. With 90% of what the restaurant serves imported from Spain, there are veggie, meat and fish options on the menu. Classic tapas plates include delicious patatas bravas, melt-in-the-mouth chorizo, chargrilled octopus, and show stopper Pluma Iberica De Bellota (acorn-fed pork marinated and then cooked in a charcoal oven) to name but a few. You’re also spoilt for choice with the drinks options – there are Spanish beers and wines, plus 11 gins, cocktails, mocktails, soft drinks, tea and coffee.</p>

<p><br><a href="https://www.renegadebrewery.co.uk/">Renegade Brewery &amp; Taproom</a>, at The Old Dairy in Yattendon, is a hip hangout with the most spectacular countryside views. The food is hearty, big flavoured fare and the beer bites/sharing plates are the perfect accompaniment to a drink (or two). Choose from butterfly prawns served with a sweet chilli and soy dip, buffalo chicken wings with a blue cheese sauce, scampi, firecracker chicken strips and sausages with a honey and mustard glaze. Yum! You won’t be surprised to hear there’s craft beer aplenty, including Renegade and Queensbury Jack session ale, plus wine, spirits and soft drinks too.</p>

Featuring one bar, two floors, four kitchens and a huge beer garden, try Neopolitan pizzas from Sarv’s Slice, incredible bao buns from YouBao, Argentinian steak, chips &amp; empanadas from El Asado and tacos and nachos from The Mexican Odyssey. Wash it down with draught beer from Reading brewery Double-Barrelled and cocktails from the bar plus enjoy DJ sets, your new hangout is here. <p>You’ll find <a href="https://plateno6.co.uk/">Plate at No.6</a> down a cobbled lane in the heart of Windsor. A tapas restaurant, the menu is inspired by the cuisines of Spain, Turkey, France, Morocco, Italy, Greece and Lebanon. Invoking Mediterranean warmth and relaxed ambience, head chef Giancarlo offers an enticing array of sharing plate options including pan-fried Seabass with a citrus salad, lamb cutlet with chimichurri or charred chicken thigh served with hash yoghurt and fresh tomato salsa. There’s also grilled Oyster mushrooms and stuffed aubergine. For dessert, there’s chocolate and pistachio cake and lemon tarte amongst others. The chef promises the only thing you’ll find in our freezer will be ice cream.</p>

Book a table in the <a href="https://www.the-vineyard.co.uk/eat/the-vine-bar/">Vine Bar</a> and you can graze on sharing dishes and sample a choice of more than 50 wines by the glass. Choose from Spanish Olasagasti anchovies marinated in olive oil, roasted stuffed squid, Berkshire trout ceviche, crispy whitebait, prawn pakora with mint yoghurt, honey glazed ham hock and bouillabaisse stew. If you’ve got room, finish with sticky toffee pudding, fig leaf ice cream or rhubarb and blood orange pavlova. Bliss.</p>

<p>Passionate about sharing uniquely Sri Lankan flavours, try The Coconut Tree’s delicious small plates in a relaxed setting. This quirky fun restaurant serves traditional Sri Lankan food and cocotails (signature cocktails). Prices are very reasonable so don’t hold back but do remember to share with your table. With masses for all meat eaters, fish lovers and veggies alike don’t miss the wadey wadey (madly popular in Columbo &#8211; these crispy bites are made from lentils, chilli and spices), hoppers (pancakes with punchy sauces) and kotthu (chopped roti fried with veggies or meat) and delicious curries. And as for the cocotails … check out the Drunken Sri Lankan (Arrak, turmeric, lime, ginger beer and cointreau) or perhaps you’ll be tempted by the Raspbangin Martini (vanilla vodka, moose liqueur, fresh raspberries and lemon. There are sharing options for the cocktails too and mocktails if you’re the designated driver.</p>
