<p>Described as a ‘passion project’ by husband and wife team Simon and Olivia, Knead promises pizzas cooked at 450° in less than 90 seconds – the infamous Napoli way. The vibes are super cool. Check out their living wall and be sure to try a cocktail. Hot on sustainable credentials too &#8211; there’s no single use plastics, plenty of local suppliers, and e-mopeds for door-to-door deliveries. </p>

<p>The pizzas here will get you hot under the collar. It&#8217;s gourmet baby with fresh homemade dough proved for at least 24 hours. Grab a vegan sausage option or maybe salami piccante, calabrese and nduja sausage. Although, the wild mushroom and truffle is the way to my heart. Plus interior design mavens will appreciate the interior goodies too. The velvet backed chairs, herringbone flooring, and gaudy prints are chefs kiss.</p>

<p>Don&#8217;t mind us lusting over this crust. The Boxford opened in November last year (the same brainy boxes behind The Woodspeen) and with them came a state-of-the-art pizza oven that&#8217;s a surefire cheese fest. It&#8217;s sourdough pizza made from light, crispy, and fluffy dough &#8211; the result of a special 72hr fermentation process with biga, which adds complexity, lightness and flavour.&nbsp;All topped with home-reared cured meats from Royal Berkshire, veggies from the kitchen garden, and sweet sun-kissed tomatoes from Naples. Yum.</p>

<p>Family-run Lusso is the place to go for a delicious artisan sourdough pizza but be warned &#8211; you are strongly advised to leave room for their delicious gelato!&nbsp;The coffee is highly recommended too or, if you fancy something stronger, try a winter mojito made with dark spiced rum and ginger. </p>

Get your cheese and tomato fix at family-run Quattro in Caversham where you&#8217;ll find Italian nosh so authentic you&#8217;ll feel you&#8217;ve jetted off to Rome. Locals rave about this place for its first-class service and famed Italian hospitality. Plus, it&#8217;s celebrating 40 years in business this year so you know they&#8217;ve got their pizza down to a fine art by now.</p>
