<p>Another Muddy fave,&nbsp;Goat on the Roof&nbsp;is a tapas restaurant with real flair and the small plates mean you can really give everything a go. They&#8217;ve recently celebrated two years in Newbury with a full revamp of their menu. Introducing big plates to the offering, find Cornish Crab and Scottish Scallop Lasagne and 48-Hour Brisket of Berkshire Beef Bao Buns with our name on it. There&#8217;s a fabulous wine bar upstairs, and the wine list is seriously impressive. We recommend the Mystery Wine &#8211; guess the Grape Variety, Region and Country, and it&#8217;s yours for free.</p>

<p>Destination dining hotspot The Woodspeen provides a thriller of top notch gastronomy. The quality of the food is fantastic, the produce homegrown and locally sourced, and the interiors are equally delish. Think vaulted larch ceilings, lush houseplants, and an open kitchen. <p>All hail Sushi Maki! Providing a feast for the eyes as well as the stomach, this restaurant in Newbury has a range of fish, meat, vegan and vegetarian options, plus a kids menu. Try seabass nigiri, octopus sashimi, beef teriyaki or veggie ramen washed down with a sake or two. The dessert menu features Japanese pancakes and rice cakes served with coconut ice cream or green tea custard amongst other delights. Our recommendation? The dessert platter for ‘a bit of everything’. Yes please!</p>

<p>Set on the edge of the Wessex Downs, head to the chicest spot in town and graze your way through unique and delicious nosh, made using seasonal produce from the market garden. It’s farm to fork dining at its finest with frequently changing menus, depending on what&#8217;s in the larder, and inspired by the cooking of France and Italy. They are open for dinner Fridays and Saturdays,  and lunch Wednesday through Sunday. A fabulous spot that screams farmhouse-core we just can&#8217;t get enough of.</p>

<p>The Boxford&nbsp;(from the whizzy team behind nearby fine dining restaurant&nbsp;<a href="https://berkshire.muddystilettos.co.uk/eat-out/review-the-woodspeen-restaurant-newbury-nerkshire/">The Woodspeen</a>) only opened in November last year. It’s a chill all-day dining type sitch with cooked breakfasts and fresh pastries in the morning, and sourdough pizza served bubbling from their modern pizza oven, plus a whole host of other tantalising Italian dishes for the rest. Plenty of options for mini diners and casual drinkers too.</p>

<p>Nothing quite like some scoffing and quaffing at your local wine bar. Chego’s is one of the newer kids on the block having opened in Newbury in Nov 2023. Enjoy charcuterie grazing boards, cheese fondue, baked camembert and lots of smaller tapas bits with a side order of one stonking wine list. The interiors are super cool too. </p>

<p>Family-run restaurant in Newbury, Lusso, is the place to go for a delicious artisan sourdough pizza, but be warned – you are strongly advised to leave room for their delicious gelato.&nbsp;There&#8217;s burgers, salads, and lasagne too. The coffee is highly recommended, and don&#8217;t forget to check out their rotating specials board.</p>
