<p>The sun is out, the sky is blue, it’s time to pour a rosé or two. Or better still, get yourself terrace side at <a href="https://www.thefoundrybell-wokingham.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Foundry Bell</a> in Wokingham for a summer menu that&#8217;s already put us straight into drool mode. The food here is exceptional (you only have to read our <a href="https://berkshire.muddystilettos.co.uk/eat-out/pubs-inns/review-the-foundry-bell-wokingham-berkshire/">review</a> to know that), and it&#8217;s an offering that&#8217;s jam-packed with seasonal ingredients and fresh flavours, perfect for al fresco scoffing in the sun. There&#8217;s small plates and sharers if you like to dine tapas-style, or elevated main dishes for those special occasions. Hm, hm, or if sharing is just not in your vocab.</p>

<p>Perhaps the lamb rump with new potatoes and salsa verde or burrata and Isle of Wight heritage heirloom tomatoes tickles your fancy? But it&#8217;s the pan-fried sea bass, crab arancini, saffron aioli, pickled watermelon and smoked chilli jam that has me crushing hard. Their vegan selection is brilliant. But don&#8217;t miss their legendary brunches. Think pancakes, crumpets with honeycomb and sea salt butter, and the full fry up works, every weekend, 9am &#8211; 11.30am.</p>

As one of Berkshire&#8217;s best summer <a href="https://berkshire.muddystilettos.co.uk/eat-out/best-pub-gardens/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">pub gardens</a>, at The Foundry Bell you&#8217;ll discover a sweeping outdoor space complete with wooden covered pergolas you&#8217;ll no doubt be making a mad dash for when a heatwave comes to town. No fighting for a seat either. The space is plentiful and there&#8217;s full table service available so no getting up and down for refills either. Just keep the beers flowing, baby. For cooler days, snuggle up under the cosy blankets by one of the roaring fire pits and natter the night away. Because really, what&#8217;s summer without an evening spent under the stars?</p>

<p>Cocktaaaails! The only problem you&#8217;ll have here is what to go for. On the summer menu, find an array of concoctions featuring some of the pub&#8217;s esteemed brand partners. Think Bombay Sapphire, Grey Goose, and Patron Silver Tequila. For proper thirst quenchers, Hugo Spritz (St Germain elderflower liquor, Fitz English sparkling wine, and soda) and Parisian Paloma (Patron Silver tequila, St-Germain elderflower liqueur, and pink grapefruit soda) have my name all over it. A range of non-alcoholic alternatives are also available, as are frozen cocktails for those super hot days. My personal fave? The rhubarb martini. It&#8217;s like a naughty smoothie minus the healthy bit.</p>



<p>Up the bar, you&#8217;ll also find a brilliant selection of draft beers and ciders, plus local craft ales to kick start your night. Don&#8217;t stagger home without casting your eye over their stonking wine list though. Their wine room houses over 95 bottles of world wine and their new summer range includes a gorgeous Provence Rosé, made for warmer weather.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-4-the-live-music">4. The Live Music</h2>

<p>Small plates to graze, cocktail in hand, the only thing missing is a spot of live music. Oh, wait, they have that too. On occasional sunny evenings, head to The Foundry Bell for a brilliant acoustic set from some of the best local talents. On warm days, you&#8217;ll find them strumming their stuff on the terrace, if not, retreat inside and find them in the swanky bar area. Just make sure to keep a beady eye on their <a href="https://www.instagram.com/the_foundry_bell_wokingham/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Instagram</a> for when they may pop up next.</p>

<p>In the heart of Wokingham, The Foundry Bell is perfectly placed no matter the occasion. There&#8217;s a train station less than 2 miles away for when the frozen Piña Coladas just happen to keep making their way into your glass (easily done). Around the area though, discover a whole load of beautiful walks right on the doorstep. Work up an appetite at Buckhurst Meadow just a stones throw over the road &#8211; a popular nature reserve for dog walkers. For family fun, LEGOLAND is just nine miles away. </p>



<p>Then of course, you have Wokingham itself. A perfect place for a mooch around the high street including all the Muddy favourites like Oliver Bonas, Fiona Parry Boutique, and This Little Piggy.</p>
