<p>In Carnaby, the minds behind Tapas Brindisa have launched a specialised tapas restaurant/bar with the humble croqueta as the menu’s signature (salt-baked celeriac, apple alioli or girolle and pine, shaved idiazabal, anyone?).&nbsp;<a href="https://kroketa.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Bar Kroketa</a>&nbsp;is tucked away on Beak Street near Kingly Court and promises an authentic taste of Spanish bar culture with its accompanying drinks menu including Vermút, sidra and traditional aperitifs plus quirky Spanish wines and innovative cocktails. This is a fab spot to drop in for bar snacks en route to drinks (think San Sebastian tapas crawl) and the blackboard menu will change daily.</p>

<p>Bringing together the darlings of the music, cocktail and foodie world, the newly-opened restaurant/ bar/ club&nbsp;<a href="https://www.stereocoventgarden.com/#gallery" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Stereo</a>&nbsp;in a cavernous space under Covent Garden Market is top of our hit list. There’s the American-style flame-cooked menu courtesy of renowned chef/restauranter Andrew Clarke (formerly of Brunswick House), a killer drinks menu curated from local brands (the owner also has cocktail bars in NY, Ibiza, Verbier and Paris) and next-level music including an in-house band, resident DJs and guest performances.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, South of the river, Battersea Power Station is keeping its foot on the gas with the latest slew of openings including&nbsp;<a href="https://www.tozigrandcafe.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Tozi Grand Café</a>&nbsp;in the new art’otel. The two head chefs, Lee Streeton and Maurilio Molteni, have an impressive culinary CV including Daphne’s and 45 Jermyn St and will be chefing up a Venetian-inspired menu. What’s not to love about a Negroni with a side of baked eggs for breakfast?</p>

<p>Vegan Caribbean pop-up&nbsp;<a href="https://www.jamdelish.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Jam Delish</a>&nbsp;(Common, Lily James and Letitia Wright are fans… just sayin’) is opening its first flagship restaurant in Islington on&nbsp;<strong>16 Dec</strong>&nbsp;with the menu offering street food faves (think BBQ jerk plantain and grilled lemon pepper tofu skewers for starters…) alongside tropical cocktails (we’re thinking rum will feature highly), vegan wines, beers, spirits and sunny vibes.</p>

<p>Luxe hotel&nbsp;<a href="https://thehoxton.com/london/shepherds-bush/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Hoxton</a>&nbsp;has opened a 237-bedroom property this week in west London. Located near music venue Shepherd’s Bush Empire, the hotel has a vintage interior inspired by the neighbourhood and rooms that come in five styles: snug &amp; snug bunk, roomy, cosy and hideout – plus all rooms are doggy friendly. Along with the wraparound bar and terrace, Thai American restaurant&nbsp;<em>Chet’s&nbsp;</em>(think smoky, spicy street food) is worth a visit alone.</p>

<p>Fancy pairing a margarita with your cityscape? You’ve got it at new rooftop hot spot&nbsp;<a href="https://floratticalondon.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Florattica</a>, 11 floors above the city at The Minories. With views of East London’s finest sights, St Paul’s Cathedral, Canary Wharf and the Thames, the bar is inspired by East London’s textile history and the 17th-century French Huguenots’ floral silks. Hence, the ceilings are covered in lush floral installations and the interior décor (you will be trying to slip one of the upholstered chairs into your clutch) and cocktail menu follows suit. Head mixologist Serena Carrino has devised botanical-themed drinks made from local ingredients – Muddy is betting on Avalon, made with Tanqueray, Violet Liquor, Apple &amp; Lemon Sherbet and Moét &amp; Chandon, being a standout.</p>

<p>The ever-popular Battersea Power Station has one of the hottest openings of the year with&nbsp;<a href="https://artotellondonbattersea.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">art’otel</a>, a 164-bedroom hotel that brings art and design to hospitality. Guests can expect stunning views of the capital from the Battersea Roof Gardens while inside, the hotel has a bold and colourful aesthetic and even its own gallery with rotating exhibitions. The hotel’s TOZI Grand Café<em>&nbsp;</em>is already open (see above) and still to come in February is a second skyline eatery, traditional Portuguese restaurant&nbsp;<em>JOIA</em>. Headed by Two Michelin-starred chef Henrique Sá Pessoa,&nbsp;<em>JOIA</em>&nbsp;will offer beautiful cocktails and exquisitely presented food, with fish a highlight. Dive in!</p>

<p>Dropping in west London’s Kensington Highstreet in the new year (<strong>20 Jan</strong>), <em><a href="https://www.bigmammagroup.com/en/accueil" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Jacuzzi</a></em> is the next big thing from Italian restaurant group Big Mamma. As with all things Big Mamma, the interiors will be grand and glamorous with a retractable glass ceiling on the mezzanine and a disco toilet in the basement – we know straight where we’re heading… then there are four floors to explore. The menu promises just as much intrigue with staples like lobster risotto alongside more innovative creations like red gurnard and cuttlefish and pizzetta topped with Italian white sturgeon Caviar.</p>
