<p>If there&#8217;s anyone that really knows their stuff when it comes to wellbeing, it&#8217;s Nikita. She has over a decade of experience under her belt working as a healing, wellbeing, and personal development coach as well as yoga teacher and reiki master, opening her coaching business <a href="https://journeywithnikita.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Journey with Nikita</a> back in 2020. Now, she offers a range of workshops and treatments including her signature Discover Your Dharma &#8211; a personal development workshop that focuses on carving out deeper meaning in your life through guided meditations and journaling in a small group setting.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-the-vibe">THE VIBE</h2>



<p>The workshop takes place at Nikita&#8217;s dance studio in Slough, a simple space that doesn&#8217;t distract from the reason why you&#8217;ve dragged yourself out of bed and into the wellness hot seat. The ambience is super chilled and from the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with open arms. With it, any apprehension I had was kicked to the curb. The smell of incense and candles filled the air, and it truly felt like stepping into an oasis of calm.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-the-experience">THE EXPERIENCE</h2>

<p>Dharma. It may not be a word you&#8217;ve come across before &#8211; derived from the Sanskrit term (originating from Hinduism) meaning &#8216;life purpose&#8217;. It&#8217;s the idea we&#8217;re all on this earth for a reason and at the core, is about being guided to embrace your full potential. I can&#8217;t say I really knew what to expect when I rolled up at 10am at Nikita&#8217;s studio. The group consisted of ten people, all of varying ages, gender, and backgrounds, and at different stages of their wellbeing journey too. Some had been to Nikita&#8217;s workshop many times before, others were first timers. And chatting to the repeaters, it was clear just how much of a immeasurable impact Nikita had had on them already (her Reiki Ritual treatment is a must apparently).</p>



<p>The three hour class takes place around a large and beautifully decorated table with Nikita talking and guiding the group in front. Journalling is at the core of the workshop, so at the start, Nikita equipped everyone with a gorgeous notebook to jot down their thoughts and get the head clutter onto paper. You also got a workbook complete with various tasks and sections to complete which you can take home to revisit and continue chipping away at long after the session ends.</p>



<p>The morning kicked off with introductions around the table &#8211; names, ages, and some offered up why they had decided to come to the session. The warmth and loveliness of the group was immediately evident in the way people were willing to open up so courageously from the get go. Then, we learnt a little about Nikita&#8217;s background before launching into the meat of things. The session primarily focused on neurological levels of change &#8211; an internal deep dive into everything from our current environments, behaviours, skills, beliefs, identity, and ultimately (the biggie), our purpose. Working through each area was a little like manifesting. We had to imagine our dream house and cars, consider our personality traits, strengths, and skills, and also our self-limiting beliefs.</p>

<p>Throughout, people chipped in here and there, offering their thoughts, and Nikita made sure to give everyone their time and space to speak. If they used certain phrases or language patterns she would draw attention to that &#8211; highlighting our lack of belief in ourselves is often rooted in the way we speak. She carefully observed the group with ease and respect, quietly helping people unravel what was holding them back and what actions they can take to remedy that. Yep, Nikita is a pro. It&#8217;s a class that delves deep beneath the surface that unlike CBT therapy, has an overarching focus of looking into the future, rather than trying to make sense of the past. It&#8217;s optimistic, revelatory, and wholly positive.</p>



<p>There were a few breaks throughout the class and we were treated to an amazing brunch too (the samosas were to die for &#8211; no exaggeration). Tea, coffee, and soft drinks, plus snacks were available throughout should you get a bit peckish too. What? Soul-searching is hungry work. The class finished with a spot of meditation as Nikita read a beautiful poem from her own poetry book. A wonderful and reflective note to end on.</p>



<p>Be under no illusion, Nikita can&#8217;t just click her fingers and solve all your problems (she&#8217;d be a pretty busy lady if she could). But what she does do, and very well, is provide you with the tools needed to combat any self-limiting beliefs that are holding you back from making changes in your life. No, it doesn&#8217;t happen overnight, but she sends you on your way more confident and well-equipped than when you arrived.</p>



<p>Over the course of the session, there were tears, there was laughter, and there were revelations. It was a chance to not just be listened to, but heard. No one spoke over each other and everyone had the opportunity to talk should they wish. And if you didn&#8217;t &#8211; no pressure. I&#8217;m not one for opening up and was more than happy to just sit and listen. It was a space free from judgement that welcomed you to speak and didn&#8217;t push you if you didn&#8217;t.</p>

<p>Fab-u-lous! It was obvious from the word go how much the warm space Nikita has created meant to people. I was initially skeptical how much I&#8217;d really get out of the class, but I came away with a clearer idea of what areas of my life I wanted to work on and what actions I could do to get there. Going to a group wellbeing class like this is something, quite honestly, I would have ordinarily been too terrified to do. But Nikita has opened my eyes up to how workshops like this can truly benefit mental wellbeing and evoke a sense of inner peace. Now, let&#8217;s get this bread.</p>
