<p>Naughty or nice? I&#8217;m hoping for your sake it&#8217;s the latter as Father Christmas himself will be making an appearance at the <a href="https://waterside-quarter.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Waterside Quarter</a> on <strong>Sat 13 Dec</strong>, list and all. <a href="https://waterside-quarter.co.uk/Events/christmas-at-the-quarter/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Christmas at the Quarter</a> is the hottest event in Maidenhead&#8217;s social calendar. On the day, you&#8217;ll be able to meet Santa in his very own cosy log cabin (£3 per child), and word is your little ones will take home a special treat.</p>



<p>Afterwards, head to the totally free Make-Your-Own Reindeer Food&nbsp;station, concoct something delicious, then try your luck at&nbsp;Santa’s Secret Parcel Game. It&#8217;s a quid a go and every parcel hides something surprising and fabulous. It sounds brilliant, but the kids can&#8217;t have <em>all</em> the fun. Enter ToMo Tankovna’s festive pop-up bar. Mulled wine, indulgent hot chocolate, freshly poured beer? Say no more. Meeerry Christmas to me.</p>

<p>Earlier in the month, catch the merriest market for miles around. The <a href="https://waterside-quarter.co.uk/Events/artisan-festive-market-at-the-quarter/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Maidenhead Artisan and Farmers Market</a> is a monthly affair, but this December it&#8217;s been given a festive (and very jolly) makeover. On <strong>Sun 7 Dec</strong>, sleigh your way to the waterside spot to peruse the wares of a number of small, local businesses selling everything from unique handmade gifts to delicious seasonal treats. There will be activities for the whole family too, so no need for chocolatey bribes when trudging around the stalls. Last-minute type? There&#8217;s another <a href="https://waterside-quarter.co.uk/Events/special-artisan-festive-market-at-the-quarter/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">festive market</a> taking place on <strong>Sun 21 Dec</strong> with more of the same to nail down your Christmas gift list. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-eat-drink-be-merry">EAT, DRINK, BE MERRY</h2>



<p>It’s officially the season of sequins, stuffing your face, and pretending mulled wine counts as one of your five a day. Guilty. Maidenhead’s Waterside Quarter is positively glowing with the promise of a good time. Whether you’re rallying the troops for a riotous Christmas knees-up or lining up the girls for gossip and cocktails by the water, this glitzy riverside hub has everything you need to scoff, quaff, and be unapologetically merry this season. Here&#8217;s the best bars, restaurants, and cafés to head to.</p>

<p>An uber trendy, modern Indian restaurant serving home cooked and unique Indian nosh inspired by the lively Mumbai street food scene. On <strong>Mon 8 Dec</strong>, join them for a <a href="https://waterside-quarter.co.uk/Events/wreath-making-and-food-at-bombay-story/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">wreath-making workshop</a> led by an expert florist, all while tucking into mouth-watering Street Food favourites, Naanwiches, and drinks. My idea of heaven to be honest.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-el-cerdo-tapas-bar"><a href="https://elcerdo.co.uk/maidenhead/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">El Cerdo Tapas Bar</a></h3>



<p>The Waterside Quarter’s local hot spot&nbsp;El Cerdo&nbsp;is a haven of authentic Spanish nosh. Arriba! The place is buzzy, service friendly, and you can grab all your classic tapas plates. I’m obsessed. Eyes peeled for their <a href="https://elcerdo.co.uk/december/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">live music nights</a> happening throughout December.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-coppa-club"><a href="https://www.coppaclub.co.uk/maidenhead" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Coppa Club</a></h3>



<p>If you like your festive dining with a side of a seriously stylish setting,&nbsp;Coppa Clubs&nbsp;are always a safe bet. Maidenhead&#8217;s is perfect option for casual all-day dining. From the garden room and lounge to the terrace, there’s a number of trendy spaces to tickle your fancy, all overlooking the nearby waterway. Delicious.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-sauce-amp-flour"><a href="https://www.sauceandflour.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Sauce &amp; Flour</a></h3>



<p>May all your carb-fuelled dreams come true at&nbsp;Sauce &amp; Flour&nbsp;– a gem of an Italian neighbourhood restaurant run by Sandra and Flavio who are nuts about simple, seasonal Italian cooking. It doesn’t get much fresher. All the food on the menu, including pastas, are handmade on site daily and pride is taken in every single morsel.&nbsp;</p>

Vegan, veggie, and meat options, plus calzones if you’re feeling fruity, can all be ordered for collection or delivery.</p>

<p>Raise a glass in the name of festive merriment at this authentic&nbsp;Eastern European restaurant. It’s a pretty unrivalled experience when it comes to beer. And naturally, lifting heavy glassware is hungry work, so the menu of traditional dishes like chicken shashlik, pork schnitzel, and kopytka (creamy potato dumplings) should keep you fuelled up.</p>

<p>Sooo naughty, but sooo damn nice.&nbsp;Bakedd&nbsp;café has a Mediterranean vibe, selling delicious fresh breads, pastries, cakes, awesome coffee and, er, wine. Don’t just take our word for it, the late, great Michel Roux raved about it, and local Olympian and Strictly stud Tom Dean is a fan.</p>
