Not only that, she has more recent experience in the primary care field as well, and wanting a change of pace, she decided to broaden her medical skills by moving into the beauty and aesthetics industry. With that,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.kalyanaaesthetics.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Kalyana Aesthetics</a>&nbsp;was born.</p>



<p>Offering a luxe range of specialist face and body treatments, the aesthetic clinic based in the pretty Berkshire village of Sonning Common is quickly becoming a local favourite. The mission is simple: to deliver a range of safe and high-quality treatments with an holistic ethos that can help enhance, define and rejuvenate. There are facials, dermaplaning, chemical peels, microneedling, filler, skin boosters, and polynucleotides too. <p>The clinic itself is located within a spacious, totally private room in Angela&#8217;s dad&#8217;s house which is bright, spacious, and super cosy. None of that clinical and cold feel you sometimes get with high street clinics. It&#8217;s a real home away from home (think plants and foliage everywhere) and somewhere I felt instantly at ease. </p>

<p>Angela’s medical background was particularly reassuring. I love her ethos of focusing on achieving natural results, enhancing natural beauty, not altering it, which uses a combination of medically graded and natural products. Plus, her passion for skincare and beauty quite literally radiates off her. You can tell she lives and breathes what she does which told me all I needed to know about the safe pair of hands I was in.</p>

<p>Jennifer Aniston, Demi Moore, and Gwyneth Paltrow are all head over heels for the microneedling magic. But would it cut the Muddy mustard? Let&#8217;s see. For today, I&#8217;d be trialling the LuminaGOLD Advanced Anti-Ageing <a href="https://www.kalyanaaesthetics.co.uk/mesotherapy-1" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Mesotherapy</a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href="https://www.kalyanaaesthetics.co.uk/lumina-gold-rf-microneedling" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Lumina Gold RF Microneedling&nbsp;treatment</a>. My main concerns were frown lines and my under-eye area so this treatment in particular had huge appeal &#8211; designed to create visibly firmer and tighter skin through the stimulation of collagen and elastin production, plus eliminating fine lines. Sounds promising, eh?</p>



<p>Kick starting things off, Angela walked me through every step of the procedure, explaining each aspect in detail. She started by thoroughly cleansing my face. Although she offered numbing cream, I opted to try the treatment without it. Brave, I know. Essentially, the treatment involves a device that feels like a small hoover, gently suctioning the skin while evenly inserting microneedles. For sensitive areas, such as around the eyes, the needle depth is adjusted to be shallower. Surprisingly, it didn’t hurt. I only experienced mild discomfort and a slight tickling sensation. Completely manageable stuff. </p>

<p>Following the microneedling, Angela then went on to perform a mesotherapy session. This involved small pinpricks to inject a cocktail of the highest quality medical grade serums, vitamins, and minerals directly into my skin. Basically the ultimate skin rejuvenation and another way to gently diminish pesky signs of ageing. You glow, girl! The thought of someone pricking random liquids into your face can be slightly intimidating, but throughout the procedure, Angela regularly checked in to make sure I was okay and comfortable which was much appreciated.</p>



<p>And just like that, it was over. For about an hour post-treatment, my skin felt slightly stingy, tight, and looked a little red, but it quickly calmed down. I was provided with a super helpful aftercare sheet plus three products including repair cream, a thick moisturize, and sheet mask (to be used a week later). I was advised to stay hydrated and avoid swimming, saunas, and high-impact exercise (bummer!) for three days. By the next day though, I felt right as rain with the redness and sunburn-like sensation having disappeared.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-the-verdict">THE VERDICT</h2>

<p>Can&#8217;t. Recommend. Enough. Just three days after the treatment, my skin felt noticeably more elastic and the overall feel has generally just been remarkable. The results are subtle but promising, however, Angela does recommend a&nbsp;course of 3 or 6 treatments to get the best results. I&#8217;m seriously already considering booking another session. I love that it&#8217;s such a fantastic non-surgical, natural alternative to botox and facelifts too, and Angela’s expertise and thoughtful approach made the experience incredibly positive.</p>
