<p>We always knew we were ahead of the curve – Pantone’s Colour of the Year, Viva Magenta, is a distinctly Muddy pink. Okay, technically Pantone calls it red – an “animated red that revels in pure joy, encouraging experimentation and self-expression without restraint”, in fact – but we’re sticking by pink.</p>

<p>In with the old, out with the new (well, not entirely). Vintage and antique textures and designs are making their way back into every room this year, but paired with contemporary pieces. According to Pinterest, searches on ‘eclectic interior design vintage’ are up 850% and ‘mixing modern and antique furniture’ are up 530%.</p>

This trend is all about clashing texture, colours, patterns and styles, but with a few common threads through colours and pattern to keep it looking intentional, not accidental.</p>

<p>I’ve always said the more the merrier when it comes to lamps, but 2023 is the year we’re done with humdrum shades and opting for more creative lamps instead.
