<p>This Grade I stately home-turned-five-star-hotel has such a royal pedigree, it should come as no surprise that Meghan Markle spent the night before her wedding to Prince Harry here. After all, it was built by the 2nd Duke of Buckingham, was once the home of Prince Frederick of Wales, and was visited by both Queen Victoria and King George V (not at the same time, for obvious reasons). Well, if it’s good enough for royalty, it’s good enough for Muddy!</p>

<p>Fancy being HRH’s next door neighbour? This idyllic Georgian manor is perched right on the edge of the Queen’s Sandringham estate in King’s Lynn, making it the perfect base to explore the Royals’ country stomping ground. <p>It’s not every day you get to stay in the same suite King Henry VIII did! This historic Bristol castle was once a retreat for Britain’s most rotund king and his then-bride Anne Boleyn. These day you have a choice of royal suites, including Henry VIII Suite (above) – the very room that King Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn shared in 1535 – Henry VII Suite, Jane Seymour Suite and the Catherine of Aragon Suite, featuring 24-carat gilding and the largest four-poster bed in any UK hotel.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Pretty much the closest you can get to staying in Buckingham Palace without knocking on Liz’s door, The Goring is the only hotel in the world to be bestowed with a Royal Warrant for hospitality. While you’re there, you can sample the Queen Mother’s favourite dish (The Goring Eggs Drumkilbo with native lobster, caviar and roasted tomato), spot the famous Goring Sheep (if you know, you know) or stay in&nbsp;<a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.thegoring.com/suites/the-royal-suite/" target="_blank">The Royal Suite</a>, where the Duchess of Cambridge stayed the night before her wedding, with your own personal footman to cater to your every whim.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A Muddy favourite, Soho Farmhouse in Chipping Norton also happens to be the weekend destination of choice for Meghan Markle, who reportedly had a very chilled two-day hen do here before her wedding in 2018, and was pictured cycling around the bucolic grounds with friend Millie Mackintosh way back in 2016. Meet you there for a dip and a facial, Meg?&nbsp;</p>

<p>This five-star country house hotel on the edge of Ascot was once the favourite haunt of a certain red-headed royal – Prince Harry was often spotted on the hotel’s polo grounds (managed by the Prince Philip-founded Guards Polo Club) and in the top-notch on-site spa. He even reportedly checked into&nbsp;<a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.dorchestercollection.com/en/ascot/coworth-park/rooms-suites/the-dower-house/" target="_blank">The Dowser House</a>, a Grade II-listed cottage in the grounds, with best man Prince William the night before his wedding – wonder if he cracked into the minibar?</p>

<p>The Isle of Wight is well-known for being a royal hangout, as it’s home to Queen Victoria’s old holiday pad,&nbsp;<a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.english-heritage.org.uk/visit/places/osborne/" target="_blank">Osborne</a>. While you might not be able to stay there, you can crash at Albert Cottage Hotel, which was bought by (who else) Prince Albert to be part of the Estate and to house Royal guests. The Grade II-listed building is now a bijou 10-bedroom boutique hotel with pleasantly purse-friendly prices – great for getting a little royal bang for your buck.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Okay, so not technically a hotel, but these five-star self-catering cottages&nbsp;<em>are&nbsp;</em>owned and run by Prince Charles’s Duchy, so they fit the royal bill pretty nicely! There are 26 to choose from across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, and they range from romantic one-bedroom boltholes perfect for couples to grand manor houses that can sleep 18. We’re putting Manor House in Restormel on our list (above) – not only is it total IG fodder, it’s just a woodland stroll away from the&nbsp;<a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.duchyofcornwallnursery.co.uk/" target="_blank">Duchy of Cornwall Nursery</a>. &nbsp;</p>
