<p>It was only in January we announced <a href="https://risingsunreading.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Rising Sun</a>, part of the Heartwood Inns collection of trendy pubs, flung open its doors in Reading &#8211; the group&#8217;s first Berkshire location. Not long to wait for the second. Hot off the presses, Heartwood Inns will be opening their next pub, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/thecoatandbear/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Coat &amp; Bear</a>, on 28 Bartholomew St. More of the swanky interiors we know and love to come no doubt. A date hasn&#8217;t been revealed yet, but we&#8217;ll keep you posted. Obvs.</p>



<p>A new kids boutique shop is coming to Wokingham this Autumn. <a href="https://www.instagram.com/pops_flo_/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Pops &amp; Flo</a> will be moving into its bricks and mortar premise, selling a range of clothing for babies and children, from newborns to six years old. And if their stunning clothes are anything to go by, it&#8217;s going to be utterly gorgeous. Due to open next month. Watch this space.</p>



<p>Thanks to a cheeky mention in Beyoncé&#8217;s latest and greatest album <em>Cowboy Carter</em>, Levi&#8217;s jeans are having their moment right now. Won&#8217;t be far to stock up on your denim flares soon with a new store due to open in The Lexicon Bracknell this October.</p>

Yep, it&#8217;s a biggie. Not only is it something only handed out once a year, but a restaurant that gets it is marked out as the &#8220;pinnacle, where the cooking compares with the best in the world.&#8221; The WORLD. In fact, only 16 other restaurants in the UK&nbsp;have the full five. Take a bow Adam, take a bow.</p>

<p>Even more to celebrate in the cheffy world with the news that Wokingham chef Josh Wilde<strong>&nbsp;</strong>of <a href="https://berkshire.muddystilettos.co.uk/little-black-book/directory/fare-eatery-wokingham/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">FARE Eatery</a> has reached the UK final of the highly prestigious &nbsp;S.Pellegrino Young Chef Academy&nbsp;Competition. The S.Pellegrino Young Chef Academy Competition &#8211; a global initiative that strives to discover and support the most inspiring young chefs around the world. There&#8217;s just nine other UK chefs on the shortlist, with the winner announced on 25 Sep. Everything crossed!</p>

It&#8217;s starting from 20 Oct in fact, and you can expect a different roast menu each week featuring their legendary bread and snacks to start,&nbsp;one&nbsp;roast course, and&nbsp;one&nbsp;dessert, with menu prices starting at £40 per person. A roast that will be doing the absolute most no doubt.</p>



<p>Heston&#8217;s turning 20! Well, he wishes. It&#8217;s actually his Michelin twinkling pub <a href="https://www.hindsheadbray.com/news-and-events/hestons-anniversary-feast/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Hind&#8217;s Head</a>, to be exact, which is hitting a double decade milestone. And in true Heston-style, he&#8217;s throwing a very special anniversary feast to celebrate. The first date has already sold out, but there&#8217;s still availability for Sat 19 Oct. It will be a banquet style experience featuring 7 courses and the most iconic dishes from his 20 year legacy. Tickets are £295pp. First come, first served.</p>

<p>Keeeep dancing! Did you spot Maidenhead local Tom Dean on the box last weekend? Well, you could have bumped into the Olympian a little closer to home last week when Tom and his dance partner Nadiya were spotted together at artisan bakery Bakked in Maidenhead. A croissant no doubt deserved after all those gruelling rehearsals.</p>

<p>Everyone&#8217;s favourite pint sized Peruvian Bear is coming to Newbury! Ahead of the release of the new <em><a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/C_-uH24K8eK/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Paddington</a></em> movie later this year, benches with statues of the marmalade loving bear are being installed at more than 20 locations across the country, including the town where <em>Paddington</em> author Michael Bond was born. Pull up a chair, scoff a sandwich or two, and of course make sure to snag a selfie with the Hollywood star. Exact location of the bench to be revealed! Psst, there will be one in Reading too.</p>

Pangbourne was home to Wind in the Willows author Kenneth Grahame for the last eight years of his life (hm, hm, the 18th century cottage he lived in is actually still for <a href="https://berkshire.muddystilettos.co.uk/home/property-home/the-charming-home-of-wind-in-the-willows-author-kenneth-grahame-is-up-for-sale/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">sale</a>). It was here he met E H Shepard, who was said to have been inspired by the Pangbourne countryside to create the illustrations he drew for the reprint of the classic novel. Now, one of his original pencil and watercolour pieces, Toad Escapes from Prison, is going under the hammer, set to fetch a tasty £15,000-£20,000. <p>It&#8217;s not everyday you get to bake the 30th birthday cake for a global superstar, but that&#8217;s exactly what happened to local baker Charlotte Wood last year who while working on the upcoming <em>Wicked</em> film, ended up making ten cakes, one for Ariana Grande and one for actress and singer Cynthia Erivo who plays the green witch. As you do. Just a few weeks ago, Charlotte opened her brand new coffee and cake shop, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/chaos_and_cakes/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Chaos and Cakes</a>, in Hurst, and locals have been going loco for it. Who knows, maybe satisfied customer Ariana will drop by for round two. Never say never.</p>
