<p>Lena Dunham’s latest TV offering <em>Too Much </em>doesn&#8217;t hold a candle to her game-changing series <em>Girls</em>, but the London love story’s still a highly watchable comedy drama which we binge-watched recently. Muddy couldn&#8217;t get enough of Jess (Megan Salter) and Felix’s (Will Sharpe) rocky relationship story after she moves to the city from New York following a messy break-up with her ex Zev.&nbsp;</p>

<p>With cameos from Jessica Alba, Rita Ora and Richard E Grant, plus Emily Ratajkowsi starring as Jess’ ex’s fianceé Wendy, it’s safe to say it&#8217;s a star-studded show. However it’s the capital that really hogs the limelight. From Jess’ Hoxton flat to pubs in Nunhead and Hackney City Farm, it’s a London location spotter&#8217;s dream. Here&#8217;s the lowdown on the <em>Too Much</em> filming locations. </p>

<p>When Jess first moves to London she’s expecting to stay on an estate, as in a Jane Austen-style estate rather than a housing estate in Tower Hamlets. Her arrival and subsequent scenes were filmed on St Peter’s Estate, urban looking blocks of flats edged by Brick Lane, Columbia Road and Bethnal Green.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Homesick, lonely and confused about the meaning of a UK ‘estate’, Jess heads out for the evening and meets indie musician and future love interest Felix in a pub. The scene was filmed at The Ivy House, Nunhead, a community-owned, live music pub where Lena Dunham’s husband and musician Luis Felber played his first gig when he moved to London in his teens. Talk about art imitating life.&nbsp;</p>

<p>We’re all familiar with Notting Hill’s pretty pastel townhouses, and so&#8217;s Jess as she asked Felix to photograph her outside 280 Westbourne Park Road &#8211; the famous front door of Hugh Grant’s house in smash hit movie <em>Notting Hill</em>, which he starred in with Julia Roberts.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Donkey Fest, where Felix’s band play a gig in rustic surroundings to a bunch of hipsters, took place at Hackney City Farm in Haggerston Park. We felt Jess’ pain as she met his fashionable mates for the first time and tried to fit in by taking drugs with the East London cool girls (the three Polly&#8217;s) then having a meltdown.&nbsp;</p>

<p><em>Too Much</em> made good use of this iconic landmark, which doubled as a setting for the hospital scenes (Jess set herself on fire with a candle, by accident), but also for the vet scenes (spoiler: Jess’ beloved dog&nbsp; Astrid dies. Sob).&nbsp;IRL it&#8217;s used as a community and entertainment venue. </p>

<p>When Jess goes out for dinner with her new work colleagues and a premiership footballer, the restaurant looks flamboyantly fancy. Eagle-eyed viewers will have recognised that the crew filmed the scenes at The Ivy Richmond Brasserie, with actors wearing the staff&#8217;s distinctive green waistcoat.&nbsp;</p>

<p>After Wendy ditches Jess’ ex Zev and the women agree to meet up, the scene&#8217;s backdrop is family-run Chambers.&nbsp;The cute corner eaterie has outside dining and a Mediterranean-inpsired menu &#8211; definitely a great choice for a make-up meal. </p>

<p>When Jess goes for an awkward drink with an ad director played by Andrew Scott (hot priest in Fleabag), it&#8217;s filmed at this historic pub with an olde world vibe. It&#8217;s more than 900 years old, lays claim to being England&#8217;s oldest pub and has interiors that look like something out of movie, which is probably why it&#8217;s such a popular spot for filming &#8211; it&#8217;s also appeared in <em>Hot Fuzz</em> and <em>The Theory of Everything</em> .</p>

<p>Felix invites Jess to the wedding of one of his old school friends, and things quickly unravel. As they nervously arrive at the country pile he&#8217;s on edge and breaks his sobriety, Jess gets locked in the loo and has to escape by climbing through a window and sliding down a drainpipe and a massive row breaks out, all against the scenic surroundings of stunning Englefield Estate.</p>
