If you like to do yoga for exercise and time out without contemplating your navel, then YogaTonic UK is the place for you. Ski and boarding bunnies, take note, there’s even a unique programme to get you slope ready.
Meet husband and wife team Tim and Shannon, owners of Cookham-based YogaTonic UK, a boutique studio with the prettiest views across Cookham Moor. They use their yoga and fitness expertise to improve, balance, strength and condition in small classes, so you actually feel you’re getting one-to-one tuition.
Both are RYT200 teachers with YogaLondon. Tim is also a qualified fitness instructor. Their clientele ranges from runners to dog walkers, busy mums to inflexible corporates. There are currently 15 classes per week comprised of vinyasa flow yoga (both strong and gentle), yin yoga and cardio HIIT plus yoga.
There are plenty of women out there for whom yoga feels like another competitive sport they don’t want to fail at – have I got the right kit? Am I willowy enough? OMG I can’t even touch my toes!
But actually YogaTonic UK is the antidote to this kind of fear, offering friendly weekly classes at their studio, online workouts and workshops. They cater for all abilities, whether you’re an experienced yogi or just getting to grips with a wobbly downward dog and parent and child yoga, with meditation and chocolate making (sweet incentive, love it).
Ski bunnies and boarders take note, in winter, YogaTonic UK run classes and workshops focusing on getting fit for skiing. They have also started doing online SkiFit videos comprised of ski cardio conditioning, yoga and meditation. This combination is to help build strength and confidence for all levels of skier or snowboarder. Good to know your warrior pose won’t simply end up as a woooooooaaaaahhhh!
In spring and summer, the classes go outside and take place on the studio’s stunning deck with the most spectacular countryside view. Fitness that does feel like hard work. We love it. The full list of classes can be found here.
