The Loch and The Tyne by Adam Handling, Old Windsor
A contemporary gastropub restaurant with serious flair, The Loch and The Tyne hits the foodie spot with a tempting menu that wears its green credentials on its sleeve.
For your glorious gastropub fix, make for The Loch and The Tyne – a restaurant in Old Windsor serving a menu of modern British pub food with a healthy smattering of luxury. The dining destination is the brainchild of foodie force Adam Handling MBE who has expanded outside of London to create another jewel in Berkshire’s gastronomical crown.
Simple, but with real frill factor, on the menu you’ll find the likes of venison, monkfish, pie of the day, mac and cheese, and steaks. There’s a tasting menu for those who want it all (no judgement), plus a Sunday lunch menu, kids menu, set lunch menu, and a decent plant-based offering.
There’s a laser point focus on sustainability here, with a no waste ethos and with produce sourced locally, or grown from the pub’s vegetable gardens and orchards. This year, The Loch and The Tyne were even awarded the prestigious Bib Gourmand award from the Michelin Guide – an accolade that highlights restaurants offering great quality, great value cooking.
Inside, the décor is deliciously modern yet vintage in style with exposed beams, a muted palette, and tartan textures. Once you’ve had your fill of the good food and wine, retire to one of their two boutique bedrooms to sleep off your foodie coma.
