A true Berkshire gem on the cultural scene – The Curve in Slough is an exciting cultural centre slap bang in the heart of the town. After having £22 million splashed on its uber modish development, the venue opened in 2016 and is home to a central library, museum, and a marvellous performance venue just to name a few.
Curve Venue’s intimate theatre can seat up to 280 people, all raring to enjoy a night of top class entertainment in comfort. The variety and diversity of shows is hugeeee with something to suit everyone. Expect award-winning comedians, top class kids productions, shows, bands, and film nights and that’s just getting started. This year sees Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee, Emmanuel Sonubi (3 May), and Mock the Week panelist Mark Simmons (6 Jul) grace the stage. Plus, there isn’t a bad seat in the house. Cop a front row fold down and you’re basically star of the show.
The best part? It’s only set to get bigger and better than ever. A huge sum of money from Arts Council England is being pumped into Curve Venue, with a partnership between Norden Farm and Slough Borough Council helping take it to stratospheric height. Aka, mission cement it as a key cultural community hub for Slough is well underway. Additionally, through the project, they are helping to enrich the lives of disadvantaged children and families in the local area through a free programme of bespoke creativity workshops that helps hone skills and creativity. Amazing stuff.
