The Cookery Lab, Aldermaston
Back to school! From bread baking to mastering a whole new cuisine, The Cookery Lab is the place to go to up your ante in the kitchen for all ages.

Think you could give Mary Berry a run for her money? Course you can. The Cookery Lab is the coolest new culinary studio in Berkshire, located on the Berks/Hants border in Aldermaston. In the state-of-the-art kitchen, there are a variety of courses on offer for both adults and kids, from chocolate making and baking to trying your hand at Thai, Japanese, and Italian-style dishes.
Few are better qualified to lead you on your culinary school journey than owner Sarah – a Leiths-trained chef with experience in Michelin-starred restaurants. Oh, and she’s a trained chemist too. Her unique approach here is to take her teaching beyond the cookbook to understanding the flavour and the chemistry of cooking. Think Brie Larson Lessons in Chemistry style.
By combining food and science, budding chefs of all levels, whether total beginners or experienced pros, will learn not just recipes, but what truly makes a chef great. The cookery school’s mod kitchen can accommodate groups of up to 20 for both scheduled classes and bespoke parties or corporate team-building workshops. The school holiday classes for kids aged 8 – 16 are absolutely brilliant – informative, exciting, and most importantly, fun! Getting to scoff the fruits of your labour, of course, is the cherry on top.
Groups not your thing? Book in a bespoke private session with Sarah at The Cookery Lab – whether you’re looking for a romantic soiree in the kitchen or hoping to hone a particular culinary skill for an upcoming event. Why not get the girls together for a Bake Off style competition, or get creative like you’re on a Masterchef invention test? The options are endless. Now pass us an apron, let’s get cracking.
