The Braywood, Maidenhead

Say hello to The Braywood – a classy new addition to Maidenhead’s fine dining scene with serious foodie flair.

Do killer flavours, pretty plates, and food rooted in seasonal, local produce get your pulse racing? Then you’ll love Maidenhead’s hottest new restaurant The Braywood that opened at the tail end of November. Sitting pretty on Paley Street, formerly the site of Michelin starred the Royal Oak, The Braywood has received the mother of all face lifts.

Inside you’ll find a sleek, airy dining space that leans into the minimalist, clean lined look and doesn’t make you feel packed in like a sardine. It’s deliciously modern, glassy, and light-flooded with an even more delicious menu to wash it all down. Expect everything from Orkney Scallops to Crab Agnolotti for starter, Fillet of Beef and Barbecued Monkfish for mains, and Salt Caramel Tart and Bitter Chocolate Soufflé for puds. Yum. There’s a range of daily specials and a vegan menu too.

Sam Brennan is the man behind it all – former head chef of the restaurant’s sister site The Woodspeen. And if it’s anything like its older sibling, it’s going to be pretty special.

If you fancy more of a liquid lunch or pre-drinks, make for the glassy enclave of the bar – a modish destination cocktail bar serving sophisticated tipples that pack a punch. There’s over 600 wines to work your way through (not even joking), but should you manage it, the party continues with the cocktails, beers, spirits, and softies. Cheers to that!
