South Hill Park, Bracknell
South Hill Park is so much more than an arts centre, it’s a creative community hub putting on quality theatre, comedy, exhibitions and arty courses. Sir Kenneth Branagh’s a fan and so are we.
South Hill Park is so much more than an arts centre, it’s a creative community hub. Set within the grounds of an 18th century mansion house in Bracknell, it brings people together be it for a coffee, wander around the stunning grounds or a cultural fix.
It has not one but two theatres, including the 330-seat Wilde Theatre, with an award-winning in-house design team. There’s also a dance studio, creative spaces and a cool boutique cinema, putting on over 300 shows, events and films each year, alongside a busy programme of over 250 courses and workshops.
Supported by the likes of Sir Kenneth Branagh, the Arts Centre attracts some of the biggest names in comedy alongside nationally renowned ballet companies, quality in-house drama and a brilliant Christmas panto.
Think you’ve got a future Kate Winslet or Nicholas Hoult? South Hill Park has a very good youth theatre programme. Plus you can burture your own creative talents or simply get your creative juices flowing at one of the many arts and crafts, drama, dance and digital media courses for all ages and abilities.
We never like to miss the opportunity to refuel and refresh, so take a pew in the Atrium Bar & Restaurant. It offers a coffee, cake, pre-theatre drinkies, lunch and dinner. The terrace, with views across the gardens, is lovely during the summer months . It’s open Monday to Wednesday, 10am – 7pm , Thursday to Saturday 10am – 9pm and Sun 10am – 6pm.
You can also live your best period drama life and hire the place out. It unique place for weddings and private events.
