Caldesi In Campagna, Bray

If Gucci did restaurants, it would look like Caldesi in Campagna – a Michelin-rated Italian and cookery school in the foodie village of Bray.

Bray is home to gastronomic brilliance, and Caldesi in Campagna in no exception. This Italian stallion is one of Berkshire hidden gems. So say bye bye leafy Berkshire and ciao to the Tuscan hills, when you cross the threshold of this stylish eatery.

A fine dining experience, full of classic Italian flavours and brimming with sunshine. It doesn’t have a Michelin star, but the experience is so good, it absolutely deserves one. Lots of familiar Italian classics, taken to a new level, each mouthful delivering a sizzling kiss.

Giancarlo and Katie Caldesi opened Caldesi in Campagna 10 years ago. The restaurant is tucked away down Old Mill Lane, a quiet treelined road, away from the centre of Bray. It is here, you discover the Georgian splendour of Caldesi in Campagna.

I’m just going to put it out there. I really liked this restaurant – the exterior is grand but not ostentatious. Swing open the door and the dim lighting pulls you in to perch at the bar or settle in for a leisurely meal. It feels homely yet special. The hospitality, the warmth, the passion for food, love for family – it’s all very Italian, and that’s the vibe you get at Caldesi’s.

If Gucci did restaurants, it would look just like this.
