<p>With over 15 years of industry experience working in high-end London spas and clinics, it&#8217;s safe to say Sarah knows her skin. Since throwing open the doors to her pint-sized but perfectly formed therapy room and advanced skin clinic <a href="https://www.re-balance.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Rebalance Skin</a> a few years back, she has been offering a wide range of expert treatments. This includes various facials to treat every skin type and issues like acne scarring, rosacea, aging, or dehydrated skin, as well as clinical and relaxation massages, pregnancy treatments, and advanced skin procedures such as chemical peels and micro-needling.</p>



<p>But it&#8217;s not just any bog-standard stuff. Sarah&#8217;s treatments successfully combine clinical massage and skincare to create a totally unique experience very few skin specialists are offering in Berkshire. Basically it&#8217;s the ultimate power couple (move over Jayoncé). She&#8217;s soon branching out to offer advanced facial massages using Eastern European lifting techniques &#8211; something even harder to come by locally. </p>

<p>Follow the yellow brick road in Tolkers Green, near Caversham, and into Sarah&#8217;s back garden to find a micro eden of joy that&#8217;s about as close to the skincare equivalent of Disneyland as you&#8217;ll get. The first thing that hit me when entering the room was the gorgeous scent of the Neom candle quietly burning away. The space is small and not only modish and bright, but inviting, warm, and cosy &#8211; somewhere I was all too ready to surrender 90 minutes of my life to. Nestled in the middle of the countryside, it&#8217;s incredibly peaceful with just the chirpy sound of birds outside to lull you into a tranquil state. Bliss.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-the-treatment">THE TREATMENT</h2>

<p>It&#8217;s no lie when I say skin can be an absolute minefield. Acids, serums, creams, and peels &#8211; its a dermatological overload. Overwhelmed? Same. But don&#8217;t worry, Sarah is a ray of sunshine who genuinely cares, and I instantly felt relaxed, at ease, and like I was in safe hands. I often find myself swept up in the hubbub of conflicting expert advice, but Sarah cut through the noise, dishing out straight forward advice, and explained everything in full. Unlike other facials, the entire service felt very personal and tailored which I loved.</p>



<p>Before my appointment, I filled out a super comprehensive skin evaluation that went through everything from what products I use, my diet, exercise routine, lifestyle, and medical history. Then upon arrival, Sarah sat me down and spent 15 minutes talking me through everything in detail. She asked what I wanted to get out of the treatment, what my problem areas were, and recommended products. Then, I laid down under a bright light so she could closely inspect my skin and check my barrier function. </p>

<p>Finally, it was showtime. I had the <a href="https://www.re-balance.uk/facials/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">GLOW facial</a> &#8211; one of her most requested offerings. It&#8217;s perfect for those looking for a real thirst quencher and is suitable for people with dehydrated, dull and ageing skin, helping to restore hydration, brighten, lift, and reduce the appearance of fine lines. As an added extra, I opted for the eye treatment and LED red light which is amazing for collagen production, reduced inflammation, breakouts, and so much more. In total, it was  90-minutes of guilt-free utopia.</p>



<p>The treatment bed, can I just say, was SO comfy and with the heated blanket I felt like the happiest burrito going. The facial began with a double cleanse, followed by an exfoliation and extraction (the unclogging of pores). With every step, my skin felt like it was getting the love it needed. At this point, the LED treatment began. A covering was placed over my eyes, followed by the machine which gave off a lovely warm sensation. Place a Piña Colada in my hand and I was practically in the Caribbean. During the 20 minutes the machine worked its magic, I had an incredible hand and arm massage which was dreamy.</p>

<p>If you&#8217;re claustrophobic, look away. Next up was the hydrating jelly face mask, and although it&#8217;s not compulsory, it&#8217;s strongly recommended the mask be placed over your eyes to maximise the benefits &#8211; essentially sealing them shut for a time. Sarah gives lots of warning and makes sure you&#8217;re okay with it. For me, it was slightly jarring at first, but once the initial idea I wouldn&#8217;t be able to open my eyes passed, I felt totally zen again. Masked up, I had a neck and shoulder massage with trigger point therapy to release restrictions in these areas. Christ did I need it. Knots be gone!</p>



<p>An ensemble of first-rate, industry grade products and serums were applied next &#8211; the kind not readily available on the high street. They smelt beautiful and afterwards, the lifting and sculpting massage begun. This was my favourite part of the treatment. There was real purpose in every single swish, swipe, pull, and push here, and my skin was given one hell of a workout, grafting the real deep under layers. Next was the head massage. I was practically dribbling at this point, and snoring was not far off had the cold therapy not jolted me back to life. Moisturiser and SPF (essential!) was applied, bringing the magnificent treatment to a finish.</p>

<p>Quite frankly, I didn&#8217;t want it to end, but like all good things, they have to. Rising from my slumber in a daze, I didn&#8217;t know where those 90-minutes went, but all I knew, it was 90-minutes well spent. Overall, it was a fantastic all-round treatment that delivered on relaxation but was packed to the rafters with real skin benefits that truly worked. For me, the absolute perfect blend. It was extremely professional, indulgent, and a super high quality. After my experience, I can honestly say there&#8217;s few I&#8217;d trust more to hold my hand through a skincare journey than Sarah. She&#8217;s practically superwoman. Just saying.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-the-verdict">THE VERDICT</h2>



<p>A little slice of heaven. So good in fact that a few weeks on from my treatment, I&#8217;m still dreaming about it now. As expected, my skin was a little red afterwards, but once that calmed down, I was glowinnnnggg. So yeah, safe to say it does what it says on the tin. I treat myself to a facial a few times a year, but honestly, this is one of the best I&#8217;ve ever had. I felt incredible, my skin felt incredible, and I&#8217;ve walked away feeling so much more informed about my skin than when I arrived. Feeling like a new woman? Yeah, I&#8217;d go that far.</p>
