Barry M, Crushed Ribbon

The new Velvet Matte Nail Paint collection from Barry M is one you’ll have to try to understand. The polishes look shimmery and pearlescent in the bottle but they dry down (as the name suggests) to a flattering luminous matte finish. At £3.99 a pop they’re cheap enough to pick up all six muted shades, but our favourite is wear-with-everything neutral Crushed Ribbon.

Like little black dresses or white shirts, a girl can never own too many red nail polishes – which is why this delicious warm-toned shade from Nailberry’s Gifts of Prosperity collection immediately caught our beady eye.
