Wouldn’t you though?
Having finally booked our summer holiday the other day (woo hoo!) I got all excited and started stocking up on suntan lotion and skimpy dresses (surely I’ll lose those last few pounds before July?!) and then remembered Hero over at Muddy Bucks & Oxon had raved about these Turkish hammam towels. So I thought I’d better buy a couple and give them a test run before we go.
I bought a turquoise and lime and a navy and red one and tried them out at the kids’ last swimming lesson, and I can confirm they are FAB. I was a total ‘hammam’ virgin, but am now fully converted. Their big selling point is that, though they dry you as well as a normal towel, being 100% supersoft Turkish cotton, they’re less bulky, lighter and more practical for packing than trad beach towels.
They’re also less expensive – a total bargain at £20 (inc delivery) – and you can use them for anything – picnic rugs, tablecloths, sarongs or throws. They’ve also elevated my daughter’s den building to another level. Cool Turkish-style dens are now de rigeur in our house, the faithful old white sheet is no longer acceptable.
They are ethically groovy too, being produced in a family run factory from a region of Turkey that has been producing hammam towels for over 600 years, and even supplied Ottoman Palaces. We’re talking towel royalty here people!
Available now in the Muddy Boutique, but better grab ‘em quick – they’ve already sold out once since the Boutique started stocking them!
