Wouldn’t you though?
Oh what fun when life is all palm trees and pineapples! And it is if you’re Hannah Foster – owner of cheap chic online boutique GiftPop. A mash up of laid back Ibiza style and neon popping colour, many of the things Hannah sells are her own designs, scribbled on a piece of paper and made by her supplier in Bali. And yeah, she does have to flit over there frequently for meetings – don’t some people have ALL the luck?!
Having moved from Notting Hill to rural West Berkshire, ticked the ‘three children and two dogs’ box and desperate to do more (‘I’m quite a crazy person, I like to be full on!’) Hannah decided the only thing left was to set up her own business. So GiftPop was born, over a kitchen table and coffee with a friend, and several more meetings squeezed in between walking the dogs, school pick-ups and fish finger flipping.
With an eye for design and a mission to ‘bring a bit of funk down to West Berkshire’, she started selling Morroccan sequinned baskets, and when they did well, moved onto tassel necklaces. Yoga pants (her own design) came next and she has just been adding to the shop little by little with the one proviso being eye-popping colour and fun. ‘My house looks like Club Tropicana with flamingos and hot pink pom-poms and tassels everywhere! But I just love colour.’
This is vibrant fun fashion that doesn’t take itself too seriously and the kind of things friends will be stopping you to ask where you got it from. There are loads of mid-range goodies including beach bags, necklaces, scarves and rainbow-coloured Moroccan tassel keyrings (this girl LOVES a tassel). Anyway, my need-it-want-it list is already seriously outta control!
As well as her online shop, Hannah also pops up at school fairs and markets, you can catch her next at St Andrew’s School on the 23 May, here’s the full list of upcoming events. Happy shopping Gift Poppers!
