That’s it, the Muddy Stilettos Awards 2016 are officially over! After two months of hard-fought competition, and an incredible 20,000+ (yup!) of you lovely, loyal Berkshire folk casting your votes for your favourite local shops, businesses and people, the Muddy’s have come to a glorious close.
(Oh come on, if I don’t say it, who will?).
Thank you all so much for voting and taking part. I had no idea the Berkshire Muddy’s would be so popular or closely contested but it’s pretty obvious that you all care deeply about your local indie shops and services. With so many chain stores proliferating these days, I crave anything quirky, interesting, different and creative, and it’s clear that you do too.
I’m sure you’ll agree that all the Finalists deserve massive praise for making the shortlist. Many of the categories were brutally fought to the end – with some categories too close to call right up to the last minute including Best Deli, Beauty Salon, Hair Salon, Children’s Business and Café categories, and as for those Destination Pubs… well, I’m sure they’ll all sit down and laugh about it over a Scotch egg.
