Property Flirt: Can you guess the price?!
Why Mr Darcy, it’s just so big! The house you shocking lot, the HOUSE.
There’s nothing I love more than a little nosey around a gorgeous pad, or Pemberley if you will, and Mr Darcy chucked in with the deeds would be a bonus, but let’s not be greedy.
So welcome to Property Flirt, a brand new section of Muddy Stilettos Berkshire in which I’ll show you some pictures of a stunning local property, and drip feed you a few clues along the way, and all you have to do is guess the price! Sound like fun? *Manic clapping of hands and a lot of jumping up and down*
Well spotted. Yes of course it’s also the perfect excuse for us to ogle at other people’s amazing houses and pretend it’s actually us lazing by the infinity pool, knocking back cocktails at the mahoosive kitchen island or languishing on the plum velvet sofa in our state of the art media room.
Well, dreaming costs zero people, so follow me as we turn the key on our first property in the local area. Take a look at the pics below, and my little snippets about the property along the way, then click on the link at the end to reveal the price and see how close you got. Do you win anything? Er, no. But you get to keep all the glory if you guess correctly.
I say local, but this first property is actually just over the way, snuggling the Berks/Surrey border in Virginia Water. But my oh my, it is jaw-droppingly stunning so I couldn’t resist sharing it with you. Ready to play?
Home to the swanky Wentworth Golf Club, and several famous residents including Bruce Forsyth, Cliff Richard and Nick Faldo, you won’t be surprised if I tell you that the pretty ‘village’ of Virginia Water recently became the first place outside London where house values average more than £1m. So there’s your first clue as to the price.
Surrounded by some stunning AONB including Virginia Water lake, Savill Garden and Windsor Great Park, there are plenty of opportunities for long leisurely walks on your doorstep. Though frankly, if your house looked like this, why the hell would you ever want to leave?!
Want a few more clues? Well, Waverton is a new property built in a traditional style on the Wentworth Estate. It spans an impressive 11,291 sq ft (yes, you read that correctly!) and is set over four floors. There are no less than FIVE reception rooms downstairs and a stunning kitchen/breakfast room… voila!
Pool you say? Mais bien sur… and how about we throw in a games room too, oh and home cinema, gymnasium and wine room. Wine room?! I think I’ve found my Happy Place.
The above ground indoor pool complex is linked to the main house via a glazed walkway (of course it is). This lap-of-luxury leisure area includes a spa, changing room and sauna. Ah, ok now I’ve found my Happy Place. If you want me, I’ll be in the sauna. With my wine.
Bedrooms are always a good indicator of price aren’t they? Well, upstairs there are four bedroom suites (oh yes) on the first floor including the master bedroom suite which has a dressing room, and ‘his and hers’ bathrooms (oh joy! No more stepping over sopping wet towels or sharing a sink full of his beardy little shavings!). On the second floor there’s a large guest bedroom suite with sitting area. The only downside being – your guests are never ever going to want to leave. EVERRRR.
Now, shall we take a quick shifty outside? Set in about 1.65 acres of beautifully landscaped south facing grounds, you can obviously enjoy total seclusion and privacy (so you can roll around on that giant silver ball out the front – you know you want to. Yippeeee!).
Through the electric gates up the sweeping driveway past the water feature and you’ll find a triple garage (for your three Aston Martins) and a separate staff apartment for your drop dead gorgeous Portuguese Manny, shall we call him Alessandro? Yes, let’s. Sadly though, our tour has come to an end. Time to wake up *sob*!
Right then, you’ve had a good look around, stuck your head round the door of some of the (many) bedrooms, opened a few cupboards… time to guess that price! It’s a lorra lorra house and it’s on a private estate set in some pretty impressive grounds. Were you spot on? Well, just click here to find out. You might want to sit down for this.
