Inside Kate and Wills’ luxury Bahamas resort
Amazing outfits and controversial PR moments aside, what we were really fixated on during Kate and Will's Caribbean tour was the dreamy hotel they checked into in the Bahamas.
The Cambridge’s recent Caribbean tour kicked off in Belize before moving on to Jamaica and finally landing in the Bahamas on aptly named Paradise Island.
The couple’s base there was luxurious five-star The Cove at Atlantis Paradise Island, a celeb hot spot where everyone from Kim Kardashian to Drake and Oprah Winfrey have soaked up the sun.
It’s a real bucket-list break, things to tick off the must-do list include dolphin-spotting in the hotel’s 11-acre lagoon, treatments in the vast spa, chilling on the two private white beaches and scoffing world-famous lobster quesadilla at ocean front restaurant Sip Sip.
The Cove’s the swankiest hotel at the Atlantis Paradise resort, which houses five other hotels and TWENTY NINE restaurants – a month of different dining each night is something we’d definitely do if we were Royalty.
Our spies tell us the Cambridge’s stayed in the three-bedroom Penthouse Suite, a huge hideaway with floor-to-ceiling windows, ocean views, lounge, office and a separate ten-seater dining area with a full-service kitchen – pretty much your bog standard hotel room then.
The suite has three bedrooms, but the couple were sans kids so probably only used the master which has a large marble-swathed ensuite bathroom with a sunken tub and glass shower with views of the ocean. Sigh.
A stay in the top suite can cost an eye-watering £19,000 per night, however you can holiday there for a more reasonable *cough* £471pn if the urge to jet off to paradise strikes.
Our source at the hotel says they overheard the Duchess thanking staff for everything and saying they FaceTimed the kids to show them the views and that they can’t wait to return with them. Lucky kids!
SHHH…THIS IS BEST PLACE IN THE BAHAMAS ON A BUDGET!
Muddy’s favourite place in the Bahamas is a long way from the marble-clad halls of the big resorts. Our secret spot is Compass Point, a rainbow-coloured boutique retreat near Nassau and one of THE most chilled places for a holiday in the world. There’s all you need for a relaxing stay: cosy octagonal villas with surround sound (the ones on stilts are the best), clifftop restaurant, pool, small spa and ocean bar, oh and Bob Marley used to hang out at its recording studio. All this from around £100pn. Total. Bargain.
