Opera can be an acquired taste, but we absolutely love it at Muddy. Not sure if it is your thing? Pop along to South Hill Park in Bracknell and experience Park Opera’s magical tour around the world of musicals, operetta and opera in this semi-staged concert. With its rousing choruses, moving medleys and enchanting solos, from Rogers & Hammerstein to Puccini, On A Lighter Note 2 has something for everyone! Tickets £15.
Belongings, Outdoor Arts Creation Space Newbury, Sat 17 June
The Outdoor Arts Creation Space is proving to be one of those magical places that draws productions to venture out beyond the M25. Belongingsis Tilted Productions is the latest latest site-sensitive promenade performance. Different in each place and responding to its environment, the piece invites the viewer to see the familiar in new ways, with local spaces being turned into illusionary worlds. Two performances are scheduled 4pm and 7.30pm and completelyFREE (booking is essential).
The Great Get Together, Windsor, Sat 17 June
The mere whiff of a free slice of cake and a strong cuppa will get me to any event, but when I heard Windsor Guildhall’s hosting a very special do to remember the life of murdered Labour MP Jo Cox on Saturday 17 June, 10.30am-3.30pm, I had to tell you lovely lot. The 41-year-old wife and mum was shot and stabbed a year ago and at its Great Get Together parties will be held across the country to celebrate our different communities and all that unites us. Entry is FREE so pop along and support a fab cause.
Super Hero Family Fun Day, Beale Park Lower Basildon, Sun 18 June
Holy Batman! Wear your big pants with pride, swing your capes over your shoulders and prepare for an action packed Superhero Family Fun Day at Beale Park. It’s Father’s Day too, so show the old man how much you love him by entering him into the 5km fun run and meet him at the finish line with a pint. Then simply load the kids up with candy floss and let them blow the sugar rush on the bouncy castle and funfair. Entry: £5 adults, £2 kids and free entry for under 12s.
