<p>Glitter at the ready, it’s time to get your festival vibe on! We&#8217;ve just had word that Verve legend Richard Ashcroft is <a href="https://www.englefieldestate.co.uk/estate-news/richard-ashcroft">headlining an outdoor show</a> in the stunning grounds of <a href="https://www.englefieldestate.co.uk/">Englefield House </a>near Pangbourne, Berkshire on Sat 22 July. Ocean Colour Scene and The Sherlocks are also performing at the event. <p>The next day, Sun 23 July, it’s the turn of singer and songwriter Hozier, back in the UK for the first time in four years, and heading straight to Berkshire. <h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-from-la-to-berkshire">From LA to Berkshire</h2>

<p>Speaking of famous faces, James Corden’s dried his eyes following his emotional final <em>Late Late Show</em> and is now preparing for his move from LA to Berkshire. For those who haven’t heard, he’s heading to Remenham, near Henley on Thames. He and wife Julia bought 60s pad Templecombe House for a whopping £8.5m. They&#8217;re not going to live in it though. The plan is to demolish it and the pool house and start again from scratch (with some caveats) to create a six-bed home. It&#8217;s yet to be rubber stamped by Wokingham Borough Council, but a final decision is drawing closer. They had to ditch plans for a 11.5m pool, yoga studio, gym, and bathroom, opening onto a terrace and outdoor 20m long swimming pool.</p>

<p>The property also boasts tennis courts and a Druidic circle, bought over from Jersey by former landowner Field Marshal Henry Seymour Conway. The next question for James and Julia is, of course, schools. With three children under the age of 12, they&#8217;re spoilt for choice with 30 schools within a five mile radius including Reading Blue Coat, Shiplake College and Reddam House all nearby. A brilliant drama department will surely be top of the wish list!</p>

<p>One for the diary… contemporary artist Kurt Jackson will be showing his work at The Base in Greenham from Fri 9 June &#8211; Sun 6 Aug. Kurt has spent more than 40 years working on, next to and along different waterways and this exhibition draws together a selection of his river projects exploring medium, scale and evolution of technique.
