<p>While we&#8217;ve spent the summer sunning ourselves with Aperol on tap, the team at <a href="https://www.dorchestercollection.com/en/ascot/coworth-park/restaurants-bars/woven-by-adam-smith/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Coworth Park</a> have transformed their main restaurant into something brand new (ish). <a href="https://www.dorchestercollection.com/en/ascot/coworth-park/restaurants-bars/woven-by-adam-smith/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Woven by Adam Smith</a> opens on 8 September with a new menu of contemporary classics served in a swish new restaurant, designed by interiors legend Martin Hulbert. </p>

<p>He has created a theatrical space full of texture and colour to create a lively, luxurious dining room, with sweeping views across the grounds and parkland. Woven can accommodate 44 guests, with a further 14 covers in the conservatory. Handy if you want more of a private dining experience. </p>

<p>The copper leaf ceiling crown has gone, but you&#8217;ll love the light installation that mimics a woodland canopy. This new culinary chapter means that technically it means Coworth Park loses the Michelin star awarded to Restaurant Coworth Park in 2018, but I doubt it will absent for long because Woven is certain to wow. </p>

Good news for your Lycra habit, if not your bank balance, a new store is opening on Peach Place in Wokingham this month. Windsor has Berkshire&#8217;s only boutique for some time, but now Wokingham will be look fit this winter. The Wokingham boutique will open later this month.</p>

<p><a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://rexbakery.com/" target="_blank">Rex Bakery</a>, one of the most awarded independent bakeries in the UK, is about to open a second bakery and café in Berkshire – this time in Ascot. Taking over the old Lloyds TSB building on the high street, Rex Bakery will open in October/ November, with a click and collect service for locals and Royal Ascot hatch for racegoers. The bakery’s founder Glenn quit his job in the City in 2021 – swapping making dough for the bank for making dough for the community. His first artisan bakery opened in Little Chalfont, with the Windsor site opening in 2021. Rex Bakery sells only ‘real bread’ – no artificial additives here. They’re Sourdough specialists, but you&#8217;ll also be treated to cakes, sandwiches, pastries, toasties, coffees and cookies.</p>

<p>If you want to put your new Sweaty Betty gear through its paces, then you&#8217;re a new private gym for women could be just the place to do it. <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://strong-womens-club.com/" target="_blank">Strong Women&#8217;s Club</a> will offer female health, training, and wellbeing solutions for all women regardless of age, ability of fitness level. It&#8217;s not your typical gym, it&#8217;s a place to find your tribe, train and lift each other up in a one to one or semi-private small groups. The Strong Women&#8217;s Club is the brainchild of local fitness coaches Natalie Higley and Nichola Stevens. No opening date has been announced, so watch this space.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">On a field, far far away…</h2>



<p>Muddy&#8217;s moles have been particularly busy this summer with news that Disney+&#8217;s new <em>Star Wars</em> TV series – <em>The Acolyte</em> – is about to start filming at Shinfield Studios. Filming is due to start in October and work has begun on a large open set in a field nearby. Disney is the studio&#8217;s first client to use the 85,000 square metre facility comprising 13 sound stages, with five more to be completed next year. Berkshire has already made it into the Star Wars history books when Greenham Common airfield was used as a film location for the 2015 film&nbsp;<em>Star Wars: The Force Awakens</em>&nbsp;and 2017 film&nbsp;<em>Star Wars: The Last Jedi</em>, to shoot scenes on the fictional planet D&#8217;Qar.</p>
