Anya Taylor-Joy, Nicolas Hoult and Ralph Fiennes serve up a dish best served cold in this high steaks (sorry) dark culinary satire. Brought to you by Mark Mylod, the man behind Succession, (who evidently has a thing for the follies of the uber rich), The Menu sees a bunch of ridiculously wealthy foodies attend a cult like restaurant and get a hell of a lot more than they can stomach. A riot of a film which will make you think twice about dining out for a while.

Aftersun, out now

Fans of Normal People rejoice! Paul Mescal is back and his struggling parent persona in Aftersun will be your next obsession (we are talking Connell’s chain levels of obsession). This touching family drama explores the relationship between Callum (Mescal) and his daughter Sophie, played by the equally wonderful Frankie Corio (it’s so hard to believe she’s only 12). Unravelling through some seriously nostalgic flashbacks of a holiday to Turkey circa 1990, you’ll be a hot mess after watching this, but that’s just the power of Mescal.

Matilda the Musical, Fri 25 Nov

Featuring popular scores from Tim Minchin’s Westend musical, this Roald Dahl classic has been given a Gothic revival with a host of famous faces at the helm including Emma Thompson, Stephen Graham and Lashana Lynch. Have no fear – all the best bits from the original are still here (we’re talking the pigtail swinging and Bruce Bogtrotter gorging on chocolate cake). Watch for Thompson’s take on Trunchball, your own revolting children in attendance is entirely optional.

She Said, Fri 25 Nov

Though unsettling, this film celebrates the bravery of the women who brought down Harvey Weinstein and paved the way for the iconic #MeToo movement. Carey Mulligan and Zoe Kazan star as New York Times journalists Jodi Cantor and Megan Twohey whose damning, and Pulitzer Prize-winning investigation, uncovered Weinstein’s egregious abuse of power. We know this won’t be an easy watch but it’s worth it for such a significant moment in the entertainment industry.

Bones and All, Fri 25 Nov

Lets be honest, anything Timothée Chalamet stars in is gold even if it’s a gory drama about people with a taste for human flesh (we kid you not). Reunited with Call Me By Your Name director Luca Guadagnino, Bones and All is a very different sort of love story as Chalamet’s character Lee falls for fellow flesh connoisseur Maren, (played by up-and-comer Taylor Russel). With a stellar cameo from Mark Rylance – if you’re not put off by the cannibals (sorry ‘eaters’) you’ll see why this coming of age drama is tipped for the top.

Aisha, Sat 19 Nov

Letitia Wright is having a moment and we’re here for it! In Frank Berry’s stirring realist drama, she plays the eponymous Aisha, a young Nigerian woman seeking asylum in Ireland, highlighting the unimaginable hardships facing refugees. Starring across from the fabulous Josh O’Conner, (and might we add his Irish accent is spot on), in Aisha Wright proves hands down she’s just as powerful outside of Wakanda as she is in it.
