Newbury Artisan Market, Sun 28, 10am to 4pm

cake

Head over to Newbury town centre on Northbrook Street where the buzz words are fresh, handmade and local. This is a brilliant buzzing weekly market with some really interesting and unusual stalls including Weavers Wood Alpacas selling alpaca wool hats and scarves; Charlie’s Curious & Oddities vintage cutlery; and winner of Muddy Berkshire’s Best Local Food Producer, Tim with his delicious Tutts Clump Cider! This really is a quality market with loads of other stalls selling fresh produce, beautiful handmade clothing, jewellery, collectables, homeware, plus loads of street food and entertainment for the kids. I’m taking the whole Muddy clan on Sunday so we’ll see you there!

If you didn’t manage to get tickets for Rewind there is still a reason to backcomb your hair to the max and start applying that electric blue mascara. Dress to impress for a glam day at Windsor races Ladies Day, before The Human League take to the stage and belt out hit after hit – Don’t You Want Me; Fascination; Mirror Man – I can feel my shoulder pads shimmying already. Enclosure tickets £35; under 18s £15; under 5s free; and plenty of other packages available.

The Shawshank Redemption, Theatre Royal Windsor, Weds 31 Aug to Sat 3 Sept

shawshank_685x420px

Often voted the nation’s favourite film, The Shawshank Redemption is hitting the Theatre Royal stage for one week only. Starring Paul Nicholls as Andy Dufresne (remember him as heartthrob Joe Wicks in Eastenders?!); Jack Ellis as Warden Stammas and Ben Onwukwe as Ellis ‘Red’ Redding, I think this looks a good one! Tickets £16 – £32.
