Are you ready to get Flirty Gertie? Time for one of my favourite bits of the blogaroo! Because, yes I’m nosey and yes I have property envy and yessity yes YES I want to pretend for a moment that I’m going to be living in this house one day.
If you haven’t played Property Flirt before, tis easy. Look at the pics, read the clues, get a feel for the area and then see if you can guess the price. Those who come within £10k of the asking price get an ‘I HEART BERKSHIRE’ key ring and my last Rolo. Subject to availability, of course. Oh, the Rolo’s just gone.
So what we have here is a 6 bedroom country house in Winkfield, halfway between Windsor and Ascot with over 3,000 sq ft to play in, not to mention a gorgeous garden backing onto fields, oh, and an outdoor heated swimming pool *BOOM*!
Don’t whip your clothes off and dive bomb just yet, come and have a look around inside first. There’s a flashy modern kitchen – all open plan – with a whopping great conservatory.
There’s a cosy drawing room with inglenook fireplace and French windows (and very groovy sofas I might say) and a family room with full height windows and en suite wet room (so could also be used as a guest room, or teenage den if they really deserve one, debatable I imagine).
There’s also a more formal dining room with French windows to the patio if you want to get out the good china to impress the neighbours.
Upstairs is a whopper of a master bedroom (over 18 sq ft) with its own en suite bathroom. Plus a further 5 bedrooms (1 en suite) and a family bathroom.
Outside is superwow – the rear garden is massive and overlooks farmland. There’s a terrace handy for eating al fresco, and of course that heated pool, bonza, which is safely fenced off for little dippers.
What else can I clue you with… well, you’re certainly never going to be bored on the weekends with Legoland down the road, Windsor Castle, the Theatre Royal and all the boutiques, bars, restaurants and gastro pubs within a few miles.
Local schools are excellent, road and rail connections all good with the M4 a few miles away, Paddington and Waterloo easily accessible from Maidenhead and Windsor, and Crossrail (the new high-speed service) due to start running from Maidenhead in 2019. All things that will tickle the price up.
Right then, that’s enough from me. Discuss, decide what the property is worth, and see how close you get.
