Getting hitched, hosting a special party or event? The Post Barn is a brand new venue on the wedding and party scene – and it’s so jaw-droppingly beautiful you’ll never want to leave. We didn’t when we hosted the Muddy Awards 2021 winners’ drinks party this year. It is an absolute belter.

This newly built traditional oak framed barn has all the period drama of a cathedral with the contemporary style of a cool hotel. Exposed beams, floor to ceiling Crittal doors and windows, limestone floor, all kitted out with the latest tech, it screams quality.

Set in its own large private gardens, you can hire this barn for as few as 10 up to 220. The space is incredibly flexible with terraces, lawn, sunken garden, club room vibes on the mezzanine, large entrance for drinks and the main barn area with floor to ceiling Crittal doors and windows. The attention to detail is awesome.

Best of all, it’s in the grounds of Donnington Valley Hotel (hello spa and gold course), but far enough away to crank up the music and keep the bubbles flowing until 2am. Party on! But close enough for your guests stagger back to their rooms when they’re forced to leave, swinging their heels in their hands.

We’re particularly keen on The Post Barn’s flexibility and openness to creative ideas – they want to help you make the magic happen, no matter how unusual or eccentric your vision may be. The team has a large range of suppliers and contractors including award-winning photographer Chris Kemp Photography to capture on camera all the elements of your day that you’re too piddled to remember. Or you can organise it yourself if you prefer (but seriously, WHY?!). Parking, wheelchair access and disabled toilet facilities are all available.

Finally, the location. Apart from sitting pretty deep in West Berkshire countryside in an area of outstanding natural beauty, you’ll also find yourself 5 minutes from the A34 and M4 and an hour from Heathrow airport. Ideal for friends arriving and a quick getaway for a honeymoon or holiday afterwards.
