The Dolphin, Newbury
Shoreditch House meets Miami Beach. This stylish but quirky Newbury pub is a great place to eat, drink and fall sleep with five mid-century B&B rooms.
The Dolphin in Newbury may sound like your typical boozer but, believe us, it isn’t. The show-stopping orange velvet sofa, , the walls peppered with tongue-in-cheek but cool art, kitsch knick knacks (try saying that after a few bevvies), brass palm tree floor lamps. craft beers and cocktails. Once your cross the traditional threshold, you’re in a house of fun.
The five fresh out of the box B&B rooms are equally stylish – with their deliciously crispy bed linen, mid century furniture and pillow menu, they’re city boutique hotel standard. What’s more, the Modern British menu is uniformly excellent. Book a beach hut in the garden for a party, private dining or meetings can be booked in The Fish Tank and the restaurant is perfect for a bigger do.
