This garden centre packs in a lot more than flowers and ferns. With an extensive food hall and crowd-pleasing restaurant, it’s an unexpected day out.
Garden centres are wonderful things and Muddy fave Rosebourne in Aldermaston is one of the absolute best in the area. Don’t just take my word for it, Craig Revel Horwood’s a regular and thinks the place is fab-u-lous.
Here you could quite easily spend an afternoon mentally doing up your garden with their huge range of flowers, plants and fauna. Water feature over there, Clematis over here and a big old sun lounger to lay back in and enjoy it all. Also, the staff are super savvy and can guide you through the best picks and what to plant, whatever the season.
Even if you’re lacking a green thumb, you can pick from perennials that are ideal for the laxest of gardeners (that’ll be me). They have also launched a brilliant new service – the planting station. Simply choose your pot and plants and a member of the Rosebourne team will plant it up for £3. Just leave everything with them and it will be ready for you to pick up once you have finished browsing. No mess. Everything planted in the perfect spot for maximum impact. Instant garden gratification. Love, love, love it.
Before you head out for as mooch, make sure you have pre-booked an Afternoon Teas to go. They’re perfect for outdoorsy meet ups with your pals – and better than a hastily made sarnie from home. Hop over to the website for click and collect. Once Covid restrictions are lifted, your have the perfect excuse to go back and enjoy the seasonal food and another Afternoon Tea (scones for all!).
They also have plenty of special offers – including a Grow Your Own kit to kick start your veg patch – plus a range of gifts, homewares and a rather epic food court (completely stuffed with local produce and specialities).
