Keeping the kids entertained at the best of times is hard but lockdown has pushed us to our limits. There’s not shame in saying you’re just not that into crafting or baking. And even if you are a dab hand with a glue stick and the contents of your recycling bin, you’ll be up for discovering something creative and cool.  Say hello to your sanity saver – Lots of Lovely Art (aka LOLA).

Fearne Cottons a big fan of LOLA’s magical boxes that introduces kids to big name artists and gives them the opportunity to create their own masterpieces.

This is a brilliant Berkshire-based biz started by sisters-in-law Alara and Selina (both successful creatives) that introduces children of all ages to art and artists through your letterbox. You can buy as a one-off, it brilliant gift or you can sign up for a three-month or 12-month subscription that is delivers a new themed box each month, every or every other month.

For instance, ‘Crazy With Collage’ looks at artists who have got busy with scissors, like Picasso and Tracey English and ‘Friendship Forever’ examines the collaborative relationships of greats like Basquiat and Warhol.

Each box contains a booklet about the theme and lots of artist inspo, three art projects and all the quality materials needed. Simply choose ages 3+ or 6+, and frequency of the subscription. By the time we’ll be allowed back into art galleries, they’ll know more about what’s on display than you do.
