Berkshire Botanical
A boutique small-batch distillery in the heart of West Berkshire, creating fabulous award-winning gins using handpicked botanicals found on the 9,000-scre Yattendon Estate. It doesn’t more local than that!
In need of ginspiration? Step right up and sample award-winning tipples created by Mr Gin himself, Johnny Neill, of Mary-Le-Bone and Whitley Neill fame. Berkshire Botanical is a relative newcomer on the gin scene but has certainly impressed the judges. Its Berkshire Dry won a gold medal at the IWSC awards (the booze world’s Olympics) and there are three tasty flavoured gins – Dandelion and Burdock; Raspberry and Rhubarb and Sloe Gin. The botanicals used in all the gin are based on the flora and fauna found on the 9,000-acre Yattendon Estate in West Berkshire where they are distilled – and and the Berkshire Botanical Dry Gin even has a little Norway Spruce in it. We’re also loving the sartorially dressed woodland animals on the label.
Johnny is an eighth generations gin distiller. After a brief flirtation in finance, he launched his own gin brand Whitley Neill in 2005, with Marylebone Gin and Berkshire Botanical gins following. He lives in West Berkshire, so a Berkshire produced, locally-inspired spirit was something he really wanted to do.
You can buy direct from the Berkshire Botanical website, but it is also now stocked in Tesco.
