Balance Pro Reformer Pilates
Fancy trying reformer pilates? At Balance Pro, you'll find an inspirational instructor, a lovely studio and 1:1 classes designed to get you feeling fit, strong and in the best shape of your life.
Strong is the new skinny and if there’s one exercise class that’s going to help you to achieve your goal while lying down, it’s reformer pilates. Reformer pilates (created by German founder Jospeh Pilates in the early 20th Century) is reputedly the reason for Adele’s recent weight loss, Lady Gaga used it to treat her fibromyalgia and Claudia Schiffer, Kimberley Walsh and J-Lo are all fans – loving the improved posture, core strength and flexibility.
The machine looks torturous with its pulls and levers but has an incredible effect on the body. It’s also brilliant for rehabilitation Don’t take my word for it, meet superwoman Cat Fitchett of Balance Pro (read my review). An ex professional dancer, Team GB high jumper, plus a stunt woman for the likes of Nicole Kidman (cool right?), Cat snapped her leg off at the knee doing a full twisting back somersault on a trampoline and it that split second her life changed forever and Balance Pro was born. After a lot of operations to put her body back together, Cat turned to no-impact reformer pilates to physically rebuild, one micro movement at a time.
Now she offers bespoke plans of energetic, stretching and toning workouts that help to lengthen and strengthen your muscles. If you’ve noticed the aches and pains creep in or increased injury, this is a game changer. Don’t think it is easy, it’s not. You sweat, your body is challenged, but the results are phenomenal.
Operating from her light, bright home studio in Hurley, Cat’s Balance Pro Method draws on knowledge and techniques she learned throughout her professional sporting career. The 1:1 sessions are based around the reformer, bench, tower, wunda chair and MOTR and maintains Pilates fundamentals – but everything is tailored to your specific needs and goals.
For anyone with an injury, health issue or dysfunction, Cat also offers Balance Pro Exercise Therapy (25-minute long sessions for minimum of six weeks).
