Property flirt: party pad in Paley Street

If you’ve never played Property Flirt before, welcome to one of the most popular bits of Muddy Stilettos, where I show you round a Berks abode, you pore over the pics, read the clues and guess the price. The winner gets Christmas’s leftover Celebrations (only the Bounty left. Oops!)

So Phil and Kirsty wannabes ? Here we go.

This is Ashcroft, situated in the pretty village of Paley Street, 4 miles from Maidenhead and just over 5 miles to Windsor, it has a whopping 3,760 sq ft to waft about in. Not to mention a large secluded garden including swathes of manicured lawn, a woodland area, vegetable garden, pond, summer house – and a heated swimming pool! HELLO!

You enter the property up a sweeping gravel drive. Arrive at the house and you can dramatically swing your car around the turning circle before parking it in the double garage. You may never need to use your reverse gear again.

The house itself is a bit quirky. You’re effectively getting two properties for the price of one. There is a four-bedroom main house with open-plan living and an adjoining two-bed, two-bath annexe. Perfect for granny, nanny or guests.

Put the fizz on ice and pass the salmon blini, Ashcroft is THE place to entertain. It has large kitchen/ diner and a spacious open-plan living area. Plus a magnificent conservatory that makes the most of the garden and countryside views. Did I mention it has a heated pool? Even more reason to partaaaay.

Upstairs you’ll find the master bedroom – with every woman’s dream – an en suite dressing area and  bathroom. There is a further bedroom and a shower room on this floor and two more bedrooms and bathroom on the second floor.

You’re in the heart of commuterville with trains to London Paddington from Maidenhead; London Waterloo from Windsor; and the M4 and Heathrow nearby.

Better still, Ashcroft is in the magical foodie triangle with not one but five Michelin star restaurants nearby – Royal Oak Paley Street is within crawling distance, The Fat Duck, The Waterside Inn, The Hinds Head and The Crown are down the road in Bray. There are a number of excellent state and independent schools including St Pirons and Claire’s Court. Big hint: all of these things bump up the price.

Right then, that’s enough from me. Have a ponder, decide what the property is worth, and see if you are right.
