Bright and beautiful
Field and Hawken's vibrant outdoor furniture is all about the fun and sun. Let's celebrate Spring with their stunning seating.
Do you know what? This never-ending gloom can DO ONE. I have officially had enough of dampness, greyness and boringness! Bring on the Springy, zingy and vibrant, I say – we’ll create our own sunshine if we have to. .
Fortuitously, Field and Hawken, the Berkshire interiors emporium in Reading, has got my memo. They offer a killer combo of quality furniture with fun, colourful accessories, so you can go crazy with colour and never get bored (it’s like they read my mind).
And like fashion, they’re all about buying less, but buying better – ticking those eco credentials so you don’t have to think too hard about your wine’s air miles.
So new colour-pop garden furniture is top of my wish list for jazzing up my jardin for the summer season. How about the classic parasol in yellow, from £99 (available in 11 colours) and this these yolky classic chair cushions (£39.99 for two)?
I’d also like to find a quiet corner of the garden in which to plonk this sun lounger (£350) and cornflower blue cushion (£92.99). There you’ll find me perusing the paper, mainlining coffee on a sunny Saturday morning in the coming months. The only problem with that brilliantly gorgeous blue finish is that it makes it way too easy for those pesky kids to track me down.
So you don’t have turn your outside space into a pub garden with tables and chairs everywhere, mix it up with outdoor rugs with piles of cushions so people can casually flop in a sunny spot. These amazing rugs, cushions and blankets are made entirely from recycled plastic so can be used inside or outside. No need to sprint round like Jessica Ennis during rain showers, they’re cope with rain, spillages, muddy feet and more. They are made by awesome eco luxe home company Weaver Green. It’s a brand Field and Hawken has stocked since they opened and I pretty much want it all.
Like cashmere, it’s worthing investing in quality teak table and chairs. All Field and Hawken’s outdoor furniture is made from sustainably sourced Indonesian plantation teak which is FLEGT certified (the EU’s stamp of approval in the fight again illegal logging), and is made using traditional joinery techniques. So basically, if you give it a little love, it’ll keep its good looks.
More bright things we love.
