Gotta Have It
Love a cool sweatshirt? Get your kids on the act with these gorgeous Bob & Blossom tops that have me dreaming of Neapolitan ice cream. And they're available at the NEW Scandi-inspired B The Lifestyle Shop in Newbury.
Has your life got a split personality? Because mine does. On the one hand I love print, a splash of colour, frills and pom poms. They don’t always love me back, but I try. And on the other, I love love LOVE the simplicity – no not boring, naysayers – of Scandi design. I fantasise of a neat, tidy, cool life – full of beautiful items. Just add a ruddy faced, handsome hipster, and the picture is complete.
So when I spotted a new shop was opening in Newbury that is a celebration of all things Nordic, I got more excited than Sarah Lund at a knitting convention.
Owner Emma Bees is a local mum with a background in retail who always dreamt of owning her own shop. Say hello to B The Lifestyle Shop, her new baby stocking things she loves – and it shows. This is a highly curated collection of stunning, simple women’s fashion, homeware, gifts and cute things for kids. Berkshire, we’re in for a treat!
Emma let me have a sneaky peak while she was putting the finishing touches to her shop, and here are my favourites.
I’m a massive fan of jumpsuits and dresses. One item thrown on and your good to go. And these handmade linen pieces by Lithuanian brand OffOn are to die for. The pictures don’t do it justice as the quality is fab. When you’re doing simple – quality is key. Red, is definitely giving me all the heart eyes.
Easy-to-wear tops that you can sling on with a pair of jeans are also a fail-safe. B The Lifestyle Shop does a nice line in cute tops, they’re mid-range in price at £45, but you get a lot of bang for your buck, so it’s worth spending the cash for something a bit different. The number of compliments you’ll get, will be worth it. Trust me.
Want to see more? Oh go on then. Literally love all of these necklaces by A Weathered Penny – a little something subtle to pep your outfit day. And with the price starting at £14, the perfect pre-pay day treat.
The ankle biters are not a design after thought either. The kids toys, books and clothes are actually really exciting. Quirky and unusual, they make the perfect gifts. These ilovenoodoll cuddlies are brilliant, but make sure you check out A Lovely Little Company’s night lights, and the to die for Bob & Blossom sweatshirts and Fred and Noah leggings.
Finally, no summer outfit (yes it is still summer despite the torrential bloody rain) is complete in 2017 without a round wicker bag. It’s £29, and one pic posted on Instagram with this bad boy and you’ll be as hot as a fashion influencer with a 50,000 followers.
If you’re in Newbury on Thursday 10 August pop in and see for yourself. Doors open at 10am and then let me know what you think. I think you’re going to love it. Here’s to a simple but very stylish life. If you’re not in Newbury, the online shop will open for business later in the year. Watch this space.
