5 of the best sunglasses
We're under house arrest, but the sunshine and Vitamin D boost is getting us through. No time like the present to up your sunglasses game, laydee. We've found some beauts in one of Berkshire's chicest fashion boutique.
Let me count the reasons why I love sunglasses – apart from the obvious protecting-your-eyes-from-UV-rays thing. They hide hangovers (very important). They provide some small respite from hayfever (I currently look like a rabbit with myxomatosis). They make you feel like Anna Wintour even if you’re just hanging at home in your sweatpants (Shhh, just like Ms Wintour). And shopping for them is fun.
My current buzz brand is Powder – a new brand now available at one of my fave Berkshire boutiques Fifi & Moose. Powder launched in 2009 by the award-winning designer Lisa Beaumont, previously of Liberty of London and Peter Jones, and her designs are glam, fun and totally wearable. As someone who has lost more expensive shades over the years, I’m loving the £29.95 price tag, too.
If we were allowed out, you'd see the 70s are calling and they want their wardriobe back. If you're not sold on bell bottoms and cropped tops, these blush framed square sunnies will hit the spot. Just as Farrah Fawcett flicks and you're good to go.
Green (and pink) goddess
A two-tone frame that's a match made in colour trend heaven. Teaming green and pink could not be hotter and these 'Marcia' sunglasses will suit pretty much anyone and they're tick a trend without trying too hard.
A little bit Willy Wonka (the Johnny Depp years), undeniably Jackie O, these pale pink retro shades, are glam, cool and freshen up your look in an instant.
On the prowl for feminine fames but can't get on board with the 90s-style narrow shades? Say hello to Sophia – oversized, cat's eye shape and in a flattering pale tortoiseshell.
Bold and beautiful
Keep it classic in an oversized pair of dark tortoiseshell sunglasses. It's shape that defies trends and worn by the most stylish women in the world from Anna Wintour to Olivia Palermo. Fail-safe fashion for the win.
Fifi and Moose is currently working on its website, but you can message owner Ali to purchase and she will post any of the featured sunglasses for FREE. Returns window has been extended from 14 days to 30.
