Shall I be mum? 5 teas delivered to your door

Nothing says 'I love you' on Mother's Day like a doorstep delivery of finger sarnies and scones. Here are 5 of the best takeaway Afternoon Teas in Berkshire.

The Posh One

Cliveden Takeaway Afternoon Tea

Whether you fancy yourself taking tea with the Queen or Christine Keeler swinging from the chandeliers, afternoon tea at Cliveden House is a bit spesh. We’ll have to wait a little longer before we poise our pinkies in the Cliveden Dining Room, but we can still indulge our mums on Mother’s Day with a luxury afternoon tea hamper containing a selection of delicate finger sandwiches, scones with homemade jam and clotted cream with delicate pastries and bon bons. Plus caddies of tea, a bottle of Veuve Clicquot and a spa candle. It’s a gift that keeps in giving. £150 for two. All dietary requirements are catered for, just let them know in advance. Pre order for collection on 14 Mar.

Great value at £22.50pp. Vegetarian menu available.

The Vegan One

COCO LICO AFTERNOON TEA

Afternoon tea is not traditionally an indulgence that seems particularly vegan friendly – lashings of butter, cream and eggs will kill off any dreams of it being a plant-based gastronomic event. But vegan patisserie CocoLico in Reading is here to prove it can be done with bells on. They’re offering a Mexican Mother’s Day afternoon tea menu, £20pp, with tacos filled with refried beans, sour cream and jalapenos, scones, chocolate and chilli macarons and more. Delivery to Reading RG1, Tilehurst, and Caversham only. Collection if you live elsewhere.Book ASAP by emailing: afternoontea@cocolico.co.uk
